Iron banner should shower us in IB loot

Pretty much title says it all I played a fair bit of iron banner this past week and literally got 2 iron banner drops. That's pretty pathetic if you ask me. Even if I get bad rolls of guns and gear, I don't care. I just wanna see that loot for the chance for it to be good. Please and thanks. Upvote please. Given the state of PvP at the moment. Would a little more loot hurt anything? Ps. The fact that some people are saying more loot would be is a bad thing is mind bottling. Pps. Let's take borderlands for example. Do you keep playing because you got a god roll or do you play because you want to get a better god roll.

  • I agree. I feel like we only get loot from the tokens we get from the bounties. Let’s do the math... Since each bounty gives the player 50 tokens, that’s 200 total tokens gained from completing the four bounties, along with four pieces of pinnacle gear. Divide that by 20, the amount of tokens needed to redeem one package of loot from Saladin, and we get 10. Ten drops plus the 4 pieces of loot we get from bounties, that’s 14 pieces of loot guaranteed from completing 4 bounties. This sounds really good on paper, until you realize how some bounties take forever to do. I’m not the best crucible player, so I am a little bit biased with my opinion of how fast it takes to complete the four weekly bounties. Okay so you got 14 guaranteed drops from the bounties, but what if you didn’t get that roll you were looking for? How much time does one have to spend to get another piece of loot? Let’s do the math on that First though, some basic knowledge. Winning one game of Iron Banner grants you 5 tokens. Losing one game grants you 3 tokens. 20/5 equals to 4 games. 20/3 equals to 6.6667 games, which is basically 7 games. One game of Iron Banner lasts, at the most, 10 minutes. Mercy rule could take, [u]in my opinion, take this with a grain of salt or provide accurate data for me to edit this[/u], 3 minutes at the very least. Now, let’s show some scenarios to give context behind this math. Keep in mind, this disregards any piece of Iron Banner loot that drops from a game. We are measuring tokens here. In the best-case scenario, which consists of mercy-ruling the other team every game and disregards to amount of time it takes to match make, it will take you 12 minutes to get the required amount of tokens for one drop. In the worst possible scenario, which consists of both teams fighting the full 10 minutes and losing every game and disregards the amount of time to matchmake, it will take you 70 minutes -or 1 hour and 10 minutes- to get the required amount of tokens for 1 piece of loot. These times will be longer when taking matchmaking and load times into account. So, our range of time it takes to get 20 tokens to cash in with Saladin to get one piece of loot, takes 70 minutes to 12 minutes. Of course, there is a medium there which I have not conducted research to measure, any data would be appreciated. The 12-minute scenario is incredibly rare, while, based on my experience, the 70-minute scenario seems more probable to occur. So what about the most probable best case scenario, 4 consecutive games won that takes 10 minutes each? That’s still 40 minutes, using the same way of calculating our previous data, required to get 20 tokens for 1 piece of Saladin gear. That is way too long and needs to be adjusted. I’m no mathematician so correct me if I’m wrong, but this scenario as an equation to measure the amount of loot drops occur, disregarding loot drops from the match itself, looks like this: n=(2x/3) + 14 2/3 is 40/60, so this with x is the amount of loot per hour according to the previous scenario above. I understand this is a weeklong event, but it makes it feel like there is not enough loot that’s dropping to keep the player going. How would I improve this? One way to improve loot drops would be to definitely reduce the amount of tokens required to get one piece of loot from Saladin, reducing it from 20 to possibly 10. Another way would be to guarantee one piece of loot for every match completed. I feel either of my proposed solutions would help a lot with keeping the player going to grind for the perfect roll.         Destiny 1 had a better loot system. End of Crucible game: see what the rng Gods grant you, will it be another blue? A legendary with that one roll you want, or *gasp* an exotic? You could see what everyone else got. That gave you incentive There was plenty of loot and more options to get it, like chests in Vanguard Strikes That gave you incentive Bland tokens and reduced loot drops in a game that has become increasingly repetitive reduces the incentive to play

            • How did you only get 2 drops? I had almost a weapon or piece of armor drop every game. Or do you mean IB gear? Bc you can use tokens for that. I was annoyed how I went through the whole loot pool multiple times.

                  • Last time I checked it does.... Unless loot has stopped dropping at the end of matches since the last Iron Banner this entire post is just ridiculous. You have a chance to get gear at the end of each match and honestly I've had an easier time getting gear in Iron Banner than I ever did in D1. It'd take 6 games at least to get something in D1. Im almost always getting direct drops in D2 and have been for the entirety of the game basically. Add in tokens and getting loot is so easy I find myself sitting on several hundred tokens every single season for the next season and the gear I want in like 2 days. Ive got 1100 tokens in my vault right now and I completely skipped last week. I rarely hear people complaining about this in game or on Discord. I quite literally only see this complaint on here so I dont get whats up with this. How are you not getting enough loot?

                    • They do award tokens to spend. If you do the 4 bounties, that's like 200 tokens for 10 engrams for 10 drops.

                          • Also fix the drops from the pinnacle bounties. This entire season I've had 2 armor drops all the rest have been primary or energy weapon drops. It's like forever 29 all over again.

                            • Over 40 matches. Litterally 1 IB gun from all those matches and 0 armor. Over 20 world drop legendaries. Over 2 million blues.

                              Totally agree. We should get IB gear after every game or at least every win. Also they need to add daily bounties of 20 tokens a pop.

                            • The drops in IB is just so conservative it’s mind boggling how anyone at Bungie thought that this was rewarding enough to keep players playing. Especially now with how broken and lopsided IB matches feel. Also what’s up with the IB engram RNG? I feel like it’s some of the worst in the game. I will decrypt 5 engrams in a row and get the same things every. Single. Time. Not sure if this is just my luck or if the IB engram RNG is just really shitty.

                                • Basically even if you got 1 guaranteed piece per match with all the RNG in the game between, is it the piece I want or need, does it have the right stats/roll, is it optimized. Between 3 characters thats still alot of playing or farming... I think we could do with a bit more loot.
