I see the ‘leaving posts’ and that’s fine, it’s personal choice.
But I’m staying because, despite its many flaws, Destiny can be a real stress buster.
Log in ..collect bounties (takes longer than completing them) ...then..shoot stuff...
In a bad mood? Shoot stuff
Partner giving you grief? Shoot stuff
Bad day at work? Shoot stuff.
It’s very simple. Stop worrying about stats. Don’t worry whether it’s SBMM or CBMM. Shoot stuff.
I know that’s not what everyone wants but for some of us, and I’m openly a casual, Destiny can actually be fun and a distraction from real world issues.
Just saying...

10 RepliesI can tell you DOOM and DOOM ETERNAL are way better than Destiny when it comes to shooting stuff and relieving stress.

5 RepliesAfter being gone since before the first D2 dlc, is it worth coming back and buying the dlc?

5 RepliesEdited by Dirge: 8/1/2020 4:43:28 PMHave fun! There won't be anybody left to play this but you and a handful of sycophants who think Bungie can do no wrong. Destiny is undoubtedly dying and Bungie can't see that. If this were a new game it would be dead already, but there are so many veterans who have played since D1 and the start of D2 and have a hard time letting go. But I think they need to just let what Bungie wants it to do and let it die. Suunsetting is a dumb decision, they've done it throughout D1 and people left. They had to reinstate it in Rise of Iron, people enjoyed the game again. Everything they did wrong in the past they haven't learned from and are repeating history, repeating their mistakes. I most likely won't be playing anymore, I've already gotten bored as hell of it. A lot of my friends I met in Destiny are playing other games. I'd say 90% of them are playing other games. Look at the forums, it's never good. These people HATE this game, and for good reasons. Bungie is just stupid. Luke Smith is just stupid.

4 RepliesIt's very simple: This game is terrible now.

11 RepliesEdited by PhantomBrown: 7/30/2020 11:30:01 AMThis honestly is the only game I've ever played where people simply have to post on the forums that they are leaving. It's quite hilarious.

1 ReplyI find it hilarious people can’t gasp the concept that you’re having fun.

5 RepliesThis game adds MORE stress than less

3 RepliesNo one cares

1 ReplyMe too most likely, however I probably won’t get to play as often as I like. Doing 5 12 hour shifts at work. On the bright side, bring on PlayStation 5. lol

1 ReplyRight on! Feel like we need more posts like this.... we get new destiny content every three months, with a major expansion every year. Think about fans of Elder Scrolls - Skyrim (2011). They are going to have to wait maybe 15 years for the next console installment. Even the best studios like Santa Monica (god of war) and CD Project Red (Witcher 3) need 3-4 years for each new game, and even then the gameplay is in the 50-150 hour range. Destiny has thousands of hours of content. We are spoiled.

1 ReplyOh man.. is this the part where everyone stands up and claps
-
1 ReplyDamn. You sure got alot of hate for saying you enjoy the game. People really got to much time on their hands.

Good for you man.

1 ReplyMe too. Cheers. 🍻

6 RepliesI took a bit over a year off of D2 came back with season of arrivals and it hooked me again It is one of the better looter shooters out there. Must admit the break helped a lot as prior to it I felt burnt out by the game. I was reluctant to try Gambit before but have been enjoying that as well as reckoning quests tied to them forcing me out of my comfort zone. And pvp what kept me going last time for so long thought I would return horribly but although skills have slipped I'm still killing more than dying which is a start. Sad to hear the sunsetting news but hey it will help my vault hoarding issues at least. Looking forward to beyond light must admit.

5 RepliesDestiny is increasingly becoming more for the casual gamer so I’m not surprised that you enjoy it so much. If I were a casual I’m sure I would enjoy it to! Unfortunately their “needed changes” to the game are killing off their hardcore player base which is a terrible spot to be in for a gaming company. Glad you still like the game. Most of the hardcore players however are saying goodbye after this season if they haven’t already.

2 RepliesWell, this game is designed as a "Shooter RPG" but punishes players(veterans) for their time in the game, because "poor little new lighrts" they can't keep with players that like the game and spent 1000h+ on this game. So what do we do? Reset them! "Wow people got angry lol whatever here's a paid DLC because all the other ones you paid for are now useless" But we don't care, new players will not feel anything about it because they are at the start of the game anyway, and since they also will buy the new dlcs its all good

i play, i raid a little with my clanmates but even the most die hard amongst us is saying the play loop is wearing a little thin and other games are starting to look more inviting.
-
1 ReplyThat sounded insanely sad tbh.

1 ReplyThis game is like smoking - it's easy to quit, it's just hard to stay quit. But I think i got it this time, i'm keeping my eye on PS5 and hoping. I think I'll go VR. I've got a shelf full of games that I've tried but can't really get into. I keep looking for that thrill I got from being on Venus for the first time, or completing my first VoG. Here's hoping.

7 RepliesHilarious, but you keep them pieces of shit in business.

1 ReplyIt's fine if you like something that's bad. I enjoy Tommy Wisaeu's The Room. Stay, play, and waste your money. That's your own decision won't stop the rest of us from leaving to better games that are actually fun. Won't stop the rampant complaints about problems. Definitely won't stop Destiny being looked at as a joke. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors as you make it through the same pattern of mistakes the game continues to run on.

1 ReplyGood on you for staying. Like you said, it's fine if you stay. But your reasonings start to fall apart quickly. Why should I log in and shoot stuff in Destiny 2, when I can boot up Call of Duty and shoot stuff? Why should I log in and do Destiny 2 bounties, when I can boot up Division 2 and do repeatable quests? Like I said, your choice to stay and play. If this is your stress reliever, then good. But if your only source of stress relieving is shooting things, there are plenty of options out there for you to choose from. Me personally, I like to shoot stuff, but I'm not bound by any one game. Call of Duty, Borderlands 2, Halo, Warframe, I got various sources. I choose to stay and play because of the deeper things. Things like being rewarded for my time and effort I put into killing those enemies. I can always get a quick fix, it's alot harder to get a sustained fix.

Opasite for me... Got nothing to do? Play pvp and now your wishing for change that will never happen... Bounties feel like homework, comp, gambit, trials, NFs, leveling and weapon balance makes me feel something dark dying to pistols at 30 meters at 0.8 and 600 autos at 50 meters at 0.7 feel so good... Makes me wish for 180 Luna.

But I’m staying because, despite its many flaws
Spoken like a true Destiny/Bungie apologist. You are not the least bit upset and pissed of all you hard grinding of Gear and Weapons being obsolete via Sunsetting. Or the least bit pissed that your bought and paid for Content is being vaulted and taken away from you? Wow. K. Enjoy your wasted time and money.
