Stutter/choppy frame rate in tower. FPS is around 130+ (used to be higher in tower) this started around the start of season 10 and hasn’t gotten any better. I have a ryzen 7 3700x, rtx 2070 super, 16gigs of 3600mhz ram. Also on an ssd. The game is pretty smooth everywhere else in the game, but as soon as I load into the tower I experience choppy FPS feels like microstutter. I have tried capping FPS to something solid like 60 and the problem still persists. Just weird that the game run fine everywhere else.

Edited by Fluidz: 9/21/2020 12:30:53 AMToday, I found out something interesting.. I installed Geforce experience for the first time, and applied the recommended preset for Destiny 2. My resolution in game is 2560 x 1440, but the preset in GE enabled dsr (dynamic super resolution) at 3620x2036. Even though my fps was now much lower at 90fps and holding steady (opposed to fluctuating 110-120fps) Having DSR turned on seemed to cut out the micro stuttering at the Tower. Also, another solution, I discovered that turning on Vsync 72FPS in game, which is half my monitors refresh rate (vsync not forced on globally in Nvidia control panel), also stops the micro stuttering (you can turn the in game framerate cap to off, just turn on Vsync at half your refresh rate). However, the instance I turn on the framerate cap in game, and set set the framerate limit any higher than 72fps, such as 80fps, even with Vsync enabled, the micro stuttering instantly comes back. I also enabled Ultra low latency in the NVCP, as setting vsync to 72fps caused higher input lag. Luckily this didn't seem to hinder performance on my rig. Hope this helps.

2 RepliesEdited by Fluidz: 8/10/2020 12:19:29 AMHeya, At last, I have found someone with the exact same issue. You say it just like how I see it! Micro stutters in the tower, no where else. I have mentioned this issue in this forum before, a few months ago, followed by posting in the Steam forums and Reddit, and I'm struggling to find others who have the exact same issue. When I get replies, people start saying they have stutters at the tower but at other places too, which I do not, its a tower thing only. And the beauty of finding this thread, our specs are almost identical, we are both using Ryzen 3700x, Rtx cards, 16gb ram and ssd. How I see it, It's like a micro stutter every few seconds, which once seen can not been unseen. It doesn't matter that my framerate is holding steady at 110-120fps, which combined with Gsync looks silky smooth everywhere else in the game, something isn't quite right at the tower and this issue needs to be ironed out. Bungie, please do more testing in the tower with a Ryzen 3700x + 20 series Rtx cards + 144hz monitor. At the tower strafe left to right and watch for frame micro stutters that aren't being reflected in the framerate counter. My pc specs : Ryzen 3700x cpu @ stock B450 Mortar max motherboard, agesa 1.0.0.5 16gb ddr4 ram at xmp (tried stock speeds too) Nvidia 2080ti @ stock, tested at least 5 drivers including the latest 451.85 SSD hard drive 200mb Fibre Optic internet Monitor - xb271hu 144hz Gsync, capped at 120hz. Capping at 60hz mitigates the stuttering slightly but its still there. Tested Gsync on and off.

3 Repliesi don't know if it helps but i'm playing ryzen 5 3600 rx 5700 xt 4k right now and it's has never go below 60fps only what stutters is menu but that might be resolution issue hope you get it fixed because stuttering is worse

6 Repliesyou need AMD forum :o no issue appear on intel nvidia. atm cheer

5 RepliesSame issue here with same exact specs, it's likely an issue with the Ryzen architecture in general. Honestly considering switching to an Intel mobo and CPU, there are microstutters in pretty much all of my games to varying levels of severity and the CPU/RAM/MOBO seems to be the culprit.
