My iron banner experience: Literally nothing like OP’s experience. No invis people, no joining games in progress, no matching against six stacks that crush me as a solo player (though that last one is because I actually team up with people, like the game intends). I have also upgraded my network architecture beyond a hotspot (like you have to do with any technology), so that might be why I have my experience.

Players quitting games instead of playing it out is why you are joining in progress. If you quit you’re making someone else suffer the same fate.
