This is an honest question, but why is character toughness so inconsistent in gambit? Some games it seems about average and other games I feel like I'm made of glass. Sometimes it switches mid game. Start out well, deposit a couple of large blockers and suddenly I can't survive 2 red bars. Is this something to do with the matchmaking like PvP, where better players get health and damage nerfs or is it unintended?
EDIT: To be fair, the reason I ask and the reason this is frustrating is because I genuinely enjoy Gambit. It's still one of my favorite game modes. I just wish I had an explanation of some kind or a better understanding of why the game feels this way sometimes.

Yes sometimes it really feels like that. Never found out why. Maybe just a feeling.

Since this mod came out, they still haven’t fixed the more pickup detection. They won’t fix gambit.

catch up mechanic. i think it does more than just add yellow bar enemies!!!.... and i also think there is a slow down mechanic.

It's the catch up mechanic, if you're winning you'll see more yellow bars.

7 RepliesThis is a thing, and they had to debunk it on reddit, testing actual damage numbers. They said it isn't that suddenly you're doing less damage or taking more damage. I think there are three main reasons: (1) There are times when they put out tougher enemies- the Drifter will announce it with a warning. It's fair because it happens to both sides. But if you go in without realizing it, you can get melted. (2) Sometimes you'll wind up unknowingly going into an area solo (for example, maybe one of your team just died, and the rest are hunting down a high value target on the other side of the map) - when every add in the area turns and aims at you, you die really fast. (3) Lag. Sometimes all of the sudden all of those shots I'm firing at those knights aren't registering. And their shots are. It makes a big difference. It's subtle, not always obvious teleporting (but often with it), but it can kill you fast.

Yep pretty much my experience every time. So I go for the seasonal blah blah, maybe some weeklies or definitely that easy bright dust, and I’m out. I’m finishing my season with two more characters getting dust and I’m done for the night.

I played way to much gambit thid season as well, I got all the weapons except the bow ( I'd had enough by that point) but I noticed the same thing in terms of difficulty spikes. My experience was playing so many back to back games was the massive spikes in difficulty levels even from the games start seemed to have no rhyme or reason.

1 Replyi hate getting paired with the same exact players 2 matches in a row. one of them, all they wanted to do was invade which they sucked at....lol

1 ReplyIt's been Bungified, 50/50 win/loss ratio, probably.

1 ReplyIt all suddenly becomes so clear. Had no idea this was a thing. Sometimes I feel like I am rolling in with my Sweet Business like Arnold Schwarzenegger and other times I get cut down and wondering wtf just happened! This really cheapens what I feel to be a fun game. Dissapointed to hear that the game throttles the difficulty as a means to balance out the game.

3 RepliesEdited by Mighty Shisno: 3/9/2020 3:30:41 PMIt feels to me like you take increased damage the more motes you're holding.

3 RepliesOne of the biggest reason I grow more and more tired of gambit. Start off one round doing great, banking notes, killing ads, etc.... Then the next round, getting shit on by red bars, hard time staying a live, dying every 30 seconds, whiskey wasting all my ammo on what seems to be bullet sponges. Then I’ll play another game and it feels like it’s back to normal.

1 ReplyIt sometimes seems like your not taking any damage while collecting notes and the sometimes you go from a full health bat to dead in 1 second.

1 ReplyAlways been this way. Very inconsistent. No explanation.
