Im sorry but no. It solves no problems and completely takes away from pretty much the whole point of the game. Its a loot shooter. Whats the point of a loot shooter with no loot? Replacing guns with skins and mods would completely take away from the game not add to it...

  • I'm sorry but I think You missed the point, the mods aren't instead of new weapons at all. They only alter the weapons behaviour. New weapons would still be needed. The comment about weapons being reskins is a comment on the current state of the game. Mods are currently under applied. That's why you don't consider them loot. They would provide a versatile system to adapt weapons and if done right provide a few solutions

  • The problem is right now though is that 99% of new gear is pointless. Whats the point in chasing a shotgun which wont be any improvement on what we already have? Guns have to retire to make new guns relevant.. the alternative is them getting more powerful which is what power creep is and it means ALL guns are bland

  • Although im all for more interesting mods too. And especially for exotics to get seasonal mod slots..

  • Which is why I'm suggesting they improve the mod system. Anything new as far as actual weapons or armour will compound the problem. Along with the problems we already have to do with overpowered weapons, PvP affecting pve and all the others I already mentioned. Mods being an underused system that already exists in game that provides temporary and either or options to players that can be added to, changed or altered readily and would allow players to boost their own favourite weapons rather than being forced into using a set few weapons (which in turn, makes bungie swing the nerf bat more frequently due to usage numbers) Just seems like a very convenient and versatile option to me
