Destiny was originally presented to us as a game that would grow over time. The original vision shared was a world evolving over 10 years. I think we can all agree that the first 5 years have no lived up to the expectation set by Bungie. One of the major factors in my disappointment is the evolution of Eververse from Destiny 1 to Destiny 2. Originally introduced as a way to purchase additional emotes, Eververse was sold to us as a way to help fund mini-events inside the game world. We were to purchase these small extras and increase the quality of in-game events as a result.
Well, here we are 5 years later and Eververse is no longer a small shop funding mini-events but instead, it is now the sole focus of the entire game. Every single thing added to the game is only there to create new cash shop items. All of the cosmetic items that made playing Destiny rewarding have been moved from the slot machine and into the vending machine. Bungie has become greedy and stripped their game of anything cool to sell it to you one piece at a time. They like to make you believe that Eververse is helping create more content but that is lip service. There is no more content now than before and there are fewer weapons and armor than at any other point in the life of the game.
Bungie will comment on anything but Eververse. As a community, it should be the #1 point of focus in our feedback. Sparrows, Ships, Shaders, and Ornaments should be in the game... not inside the cash shop.
Edit: To prove my point, here we are at the top of the feedback forum and Bungie is still not commenting. They refuse to say anything about EV.

10 RepliesImagine how awesome this game would be if they took out eververse and put all those items into different parts of the game. -strike specific loot -rare world drops -rare bounty rewards -rare matchmaking playlist rewards Oh wait..they did have that before and chose greed over quality.
