Even before anyone had "done the math" I knew Bungie had -blam!-ed up Masterwork big time. Apparently they also -blam!-ed up Infusion to be even more ridiculously expensive than it had already become in Forsaken relative to what it cost in Vanilla D2.
Which means the specific purpose of Armor 2.0, the very reason why they overhauled the armor system in the first place, has not merely been cast by the wayside, but has in fact become infinitely MORE of a problem.
And the purpose was this: players were complaining that they couldn't use the armor they WANTED to use (i.e. the armor they liked the looks of OR the armor with the most beneficial perks) because of the POWER LEVEL.
And how do we keep up with power level?
Infusion.
How do we get armor we actually like the looks and perks of in Armor 2.0?
Investing a literal shit-ton of grind and materials into a piece of armor that drops with halfway decent stats because until we do we cant slot anything worth shit into it.
Just so the -blam!-ing thing can sit in the goddamn VAULT because we STILL can't -blam!-ing afford to infuse -blam!--all!
The armor we WANT to use is still entirely useless because we can't afford to keep it RELEVANT to the power game.
