Can we stop Allowing PvE events to ruin PvP

I am avid PvP player. I legit mostly only play this game for PvP because to me, PvE is completely boring and not worth the time. But as of late, Bungie has launched PvE after PvE event that has effectively screwed over PvP and has done nothing about it! Why is it that you as developers Bungie keep allowing things to be released in these sorry ass ways? Can we leave PvP alone for once without you putting in an event that screws over PvP? Edit: Oh my! I seem to have ruffled some feathers here! If you’re going to add to the topic, seek true debate and discussion, not asinine idiocy and mockery of opinions. This is a topic of discussion that has been going on since D1 but in reverse and now it’s the reverse for D2z

I could make a salty post about how PvP nerfs screwed over D1s PvE sandbox for ages, but I wont. I know your pain on this one and it sucks. Hopefully Bungie finally see fit to properly partition PvP and PvE (but keep Iron Banner as a gloriously unbalanced chaotic crossover)

  • And yet, PvE players are sick and tired of having to wade the flood of sweat that is PvP because a gun quest they got in PvE took them there. It's about damn time everyone realised that both sides have the same issue and that Bungie needs to fix it.

      • As a more casual player who doesn't mind pvp objectives, I totally agree with you. Everything seems to be based on ruining everybody else's game. Why can't they just make general kills or something simple that doesn't affect other people?

          • Its on bungie. They force people to play modes they don’t enjoy, in order to keep up with game and friends.

            • Pvp was never supposed to be a main part of this game to begin with. Pvp in this game initially was only supposed to be along the same lines as multiplayer in mass effect. It was only ever supposed to be an extra little activity to do to add a little variety. But then it got super popular and Bungie kept adding to it in D1. Pvp has always been the worst part of destiny. 95% of the nerfs in D1 were all because of Pvp. At least in D2 they can kind of keep the nerfs to guns in pvp seperate from pve. Maybe you should go play battlefront 2 or CoD if you are a hardcore pvp player.

                • Question, How does this event ruin PvP? There’s only a few steps which require PvP and if anything it’ll make it easier for you as people aren’t using there optimal loadout. There has been plenty of times where PvP ruin PvE, Take Luna’s for example. It’s absolutely worthless in PvE in its current state where it was super fun before the nerf

                • What's the matter? PVE players aren't letting you sweats relax and have fun in Quick Play?

                  • You admit to being an avid pvp player, so why aren't you playing other pvp games? Why do sweats flock to this game? Is it because of space magic? Do you know this is a 95% PvE game? The majority of players who play this game didn't buy it for PvP. Myself, I was tired of CoD and PvP when I started playing this game. Yes, I had a positive kd in a couple CoDs, but I was done sweating lol. The majority of the player base of this game probably weren't thinking about pvp when they bought the game, because the market is flooded with other PvP titles. Then you have some D&D/WoW people in there as well, who really weren't thinking about PvP, yet they keep making it part of everything and that's why you see people with less than great stats or post that say remove pvp. I understand Halo pvp was popular at one time, but it was different. Weapons were the same, no space magic, etc... They did that here in year 1 to try and balance the game with the same weapons for everyone and 4v4, and the sweats broke down and cried because they didn't feel special without their god-rolled ____ and only 1 super per match. That's why the team-shoot meta was so popular. Of course pvp sweats are going to feel special playing against and wrecking people who don't want to play pvp. People like to argue "pvp kept d1 alive"... Lol. I read somewhere peak trials engagement was around 500,000; out of 13-14 million accounts. That's not keeping anything alive. D1 stayed alive because it was fun. They tried to fix D2 and the sweats weren't having it, so they listened to a small fraction of the player base and changed it. PvP here should have never been a focus or requirement without dedicated servers as the host team in p2p has the advantage 85% of the time I'd opine. So do the pvp sweats come here because they're good, or because the majority of the people in pvp don't want to be there? Could they not cut it in other pvp games? They couldn't "git gud" at other pvp games without random rolls and space magic and came to this one?

                    • The purpose of these events isn't to celebrate one event or the other but rather everything. I understand that PvP gets hurt by events that cross over into it that grant normally inaccessible stuff...but the point is to bring a level of enjoyment via mayhem (although I think it's absolutely ridiculous that mayhem isn't here...bit whatever). I certainly think the revelry ruined PvP because it was flat out broken...but the elemental orbs don't do all that much honestly. Some random crappy buff you might get once or twice per match and can extend your supers duration (but not decreasing the energy cost) and some additional effect. It would be more annoying if it did more but honestly this feels balanced. This isn't to say I disagree with you, it's just that it's not THAT bad.

                    • Pvp was only added In d1 Because activision wanted loot boxes but then decided not to implement them.

                    • How does solstice effect PVP in any way... And if your saying there are too many PVE events compared to PVP take a look at destiny tracker and tell me with a straight face how the amount of PVP and PVE players in this game daily are even close to being the same

                    • I have been saying this for years... What we need is CoD's model, specifically like BO3. Multiplayer, campaign, and zombies have 3 entirely different loadouts and ranks. Some weapons are exclusive to zombies, while others to campaign. PvP has its own separate everything. Or Warframe too. For Destiny, have either: 1. PvP and PvE character. Choose upon creation. One or the other with no overlap. 2. In orbit shift between loadouts. Where the PvP has set weapons, rolls, etc. Limit how many weapons/etc are available.

                      • I accept this game for what it is. I play a mixture of everything because I choose too do so. I understand the frustration that people that only want to do PvE or PvP feel. If I want a certain weapon, such as the Recluse or the Revoker, I accept that I’ll have to play comp to acquire them. If I want a shot at the 1k Voices or the Tarrabah, I’ll do a raid. Same goes for Gambit weapons. I’ll step outside my comfort zone and try. I may struggle in my attempts, I may never even acquire certain weapons. That’s the game. I like that destiny has these different game modes and rewards that go along with them. It requires you to practice and improve. Again, I understand the frustration felt by people. It can suck not being able to have it all. To each their own and good luck to all those in pursuit of their goals.
