I honestly liked the old Iron Banner better. Without level advantage.
It really hurts people who have a full-time job and can't grind and enjoy the beauty of the Iron Banner rewards. Also, the teams seem to be super unbalanced because of this. People can group up with low and high level which makes the enemy low levels.
I dunno, it could just be me. But I MUCH preferred it the way it was before.
P.S.: I really like the zone-locking during power play, that feels like a much needed balance.

The old iron banner, d1, actually had light advantages enabled. It was kind of why everyone enjoyed it. Idk why they jacked around and turned them off and im glad I wasn't around for that pitiful excuse for the iron banner. Its meant to be hard, its meant to be time consuming, it should be an uphill battle to the death for fame and glory.

This is the way it was before. Those of us that had to go through the grind of D1, this is how we played IB. It is much better with light level advantage. That was the original reason of even having the IB. That's what it is all about.

I played IB in the 540's for power level and frequently was on the receiving end of skilled opponents who were much lower, notably as low as 480. Power Level carries you in PvE, not PvP. The problem is something other than your Power Level. But it sure does make a convenient excuse, yeah?

The ridiculous matchmaking is more of a problem.
-
SBMM ruined it for me
-
It is a problem. But keep it to yourself. As you can see people are nasty. Yes D1 had a similar system but this is definitely out of hand right now.

Your opinion is trash.

I got video proof I'm 550 and level 500 we're still eating And hitting like me
-
Dude, dont bring your f-in job into this, a video game shouldn't be balanced around some guy who needs to work 9-5 to keep a roof over his head, if you're working that hard, stop playing video games and sort your life out. And there is no MM in destiny, git gud my friend.

9 RepliesWhat?! A progression-based game giving advantages to people who progressed?! Blasphemy! Burn the heretics! Light advantage makes complete sense. I serve in the Army and managed to go into the Iron Banner at around 547 without any problem.

Shut up. Level advantages were a D1 thing that was fun because it gave the people who grinded to higher light levels in PVE an advantage. So the players who generally didn't play PVP had an incentive to play. When the next Iron banner comes around everyone will be max light, so it only effects the first Banner of the expansion. Let people have some fun. You're probably one of the players that got our shotguns moved to heavy in the first place.
And absolutely no one likes those players.
if bungie made a playlist that separate the players that have and don't have forsaken, people will still complain

I would be ok with level advantage if it wasn't as extreme as it currently is. Fighting against anyone 15+ light over you just turns into a joke. And a light difference that big is very common with the way D2 is in its current state. You're limited on the number of powerful rewards you can get per week, so if you happen to miss any of them, or if you don't have time to play all 3 classes, you are pretty much guaranteed to fall behind. Stack rng giving you the same slot item over and over again on top of the punishing infusion system, and the level difference becomes even worse. Back in D1 level advantage was always a thing in IB, however it didn't feel nearly as bad as it does this time around. I played pretty much every IB in D1, and enjoyed it, but now I can't even force myself to go back in for the rewards after getting torn apart by level advantage. Yes I'm not an amazing pvp player, but I can hold my own just fine in regular crucible, yet the difference in IB is gigantic.

2 Repliesi work full time dont grind stupid hard and still went into Banner at 570, I personally loved it but its another one of them Destiny either love it or hate it things....as it is and always has been "Destiny is Marmite"

If it wasn’t such an obvious cash grab maybe I wouldn’t agree, but it’s sadly obvious.
