Bring back some badass cloaks
First and foremost, there’re some okay to good looking cloaks in game rn. The parade armor model is pretty nice, and the Crucible one ain’t that bad either, to name a few.
However, when I’m talking about “badass cloaks”, I think of some D1 armor that really embodies this. The House of Wolves cloak models really stick out to me personally. I’m sure y’all could name some more that do the same to you.
Point is, going into Forsaken, I’m hoping we get cloaks that look as cool as they once did.

I was always a fan of simplicity. Loved the boring old Frumious Cloak. I’d wear it when I was just knocking around and didn’t need light level. Something simple that makes me look like a level 8. I always stand out when on a raid or high level groups simply because I don’t stand out. It was like using the starting ship. People would always ask about it.

I want my Venom of Ikeheka and My Y2 Trials cloaks back. Those were by far my favorites.

2 RepliesHate nearly 95% of all armor in game and will NEVER understand how it can be that hard to create some armor pieces that don't have pyramids, bugs or snake crap on it, being without squiggly decoration, but just making also some simple armor for once. Honestly, i know tastes are different, but Bungle manages the impossible to create nearly only crappy looking armor...if i would ever had a wish for any cloak, i'd love to see the cloak of the mantis/leopard style (from D1) coming back! that was maybe the only i ever truly liked.

As I was looking through the collections to check out some forsaken armor I discovered one particular cloak that immediately fell in love with: Tangled Web Cloak, with the fur collar and a Fallen symbol on the back. Reminds me of the old Prison of Elders cloaks and I already want it. Assuming the armor is the planetary set for the Tangled Shore, I’m gonna be grinding the heck out of it to get that cloak.

1 ReplyI miss my Cloak of the Shadowjacks. It was only a half legnth cloak (which I generally dislike) but it had one of the more unique looks. Plus it had a little antenna/headphone earpiece that looked pretty cool.

I have been getting beat up over this, but have been saying since D2 launched that the armor design is horrible compared to D1. And that's saying a lot, because the majority of the armor in D1 was pretty lame. There are some amazing artists out there that have been designing really regal, creative, and genuinely badass armor pieces and I think Bungie could stand to start looking at this art for inspiration.

1 ReplyBungie failed a golden opportunity to reintroduce Strength of the Pack. I loved that cloak and I miss it every day. :( The Iron Banner ornaments are extremely meh. The cloak with its fur mantle is good but the alternate designs are super forgettable. At least we’re not Titans with their trash marks. So many beautiful designs from D1 left unused in lieu of generic loincloth 21. Eugh

1 ReplyAgreed. I can't stand most of the cloaks in D2. I stick with the Io one because it looks pretty decent overall, although I don't like the film at the end of the hood. I wish I kept the Trials cloak because it looks pretty good on some armor sets. But I have a bit of good news with forsaken. [spoiler]Database makes it look like we get Cayde's cloak ;)[/spoiler]

Yeah the hunter cloaks are not as good as D1. Add in warlock bonds. I never liked that the bonds are so small compared to hunter cloaks and Titan makes but the D1 had cool holograms. The D2 ones are bland and suck.
