So, does this prove that the EDZ was originally supposed to be in D1?
EDIT: And does this prove that Bungie is purposely cutting old content to be sold later?

I can see it now... The year is 2025, Destiny 5 is being released in September, all the QoL upgrades and things we've had before are included... Space combat, new areas on all planets, visit the Fallen homeworld, 6 new enemy races. "It's all cut content and reskins."

yes at least the edz, curse of osiris and warmind was all cut from destiny one

Just because a D1 crucible map was placed in a lost sector does not mean that there is clear proof the EDZ was supposed to be in D1. Its more likely an Easter egg for those players who remember memento and a nod to how it’s in the same area. A more crucial piece of evidence would be one of the early D1 vidocs that show some gameplay of the EDZ, but that video has no connection to Memento, just the EDZ overall

I'm sure they build a lot areas, weapons and armour and then have debates of what they release and when. As I'm sure any creative studios do. Think concept cars. This doesn't mean they were finished products ready ship. If the edz had come to D1 we would have not had some other area or we would have paid for it as an expansion then.

From what I’ve heard, the EDZ wasn’t just built, but was [i]complete[/i]. When they initially cut it, I don’t think they did it intentionally to be sold later, but that was what happened though. Personally, I think they were buying time due to Jones and Co. cutting Staten’s story and the subsequent restructuring of the game. The delay meant they lost revenue for that year. To make it up, we had TDB, HoW, the Dreadnaught moved into Taken King, The EDZ, Mercury and the Martian Icecaps moved into D2.
