Black Screen on Startup - Laptop, nVidia latest driver, Win10 17661.1001

bought the game yesterday , after 5 hours of download,i got almost 50G data just to show me a black screen.... I7-7700HQ,8G RAM ,nvidia 1050 ti 4GB using integration video will not give me a black screen but sill not playable, only 5-10 fps with huge input lag. i tried all those others methods, include reinstall game , reinstall video driver, reinstall my windows, using old version of video driver with clean installation , but nothing helped.

  • Hey there, I had this same issue and found my own fix. Disabling fullscreen opitmizations compeltely cured me of this problem. hope it works for you too. (Find your Destiny 2 folder, Or just open the file location on BattleNet, right click the Destiny 2 Launcher and the Application, To to the compatibility Tab, and check off "Disable fullscreen optimizations") I have constant crashing in PVE, which is pretty common it looks like. Unrelated to this topic though.

    • This is a problem with the current version of Windows in the DirectX to GPU bridge area. This has been occurring since the launch of the 1803 update (it also has been screwing with AC:O and Rocket League) . If you roll back from the most recent update it should work.

    • If you are on the latest windows update 1803. Roll back to 1709. The game works. It worked for me. Tried all possible ways. That's the only way!

      • HI What you can do until a patch is released ( for laptop ) is to plug an external monitor, use only the external monitor, start the game then once the logo appears ( no black screen) , unplug the 2nd monitor, it will pop up into the laptop screen. Hope to get a real fix soon ;) enjoy

      • yea same here. The underlying problem is that the game outputs to the render device. So I got around this by outputting the game to an external monitor. until I find a fix that's how I play.

        • None of the Fixes that these others have posted have fixed anything. I'm sure they'll fix it. I have the same issue on my Laptop and it didn't start until the last Hotfix, and the newest Windows Build Update. Not sure which did it.
