The "Reskin" argument annoys me. Here's my advice to any idiot that supports this stupid argument.
Go to a gun store. Ask to see a Glock 19. Once you've looked it over, tested the trigger, grip, and the slide, ask to see a S&W SD. Once you're done with that, ask to see a Springfield XD. They all look pretty much the same, right? Their function is pretty similar too.
That's how guns are. They are all reskins of other guns. How many gun shapes do you want in a gun game? Jeez!
Now, if you want to make the argument that the guns should have random rolls, I agree. But can we give this reskin BS a rest? Please? It's an unrealistic argument that accomplishes nothing in the end.
Edit: This message is to all the idiots who don't seem to understand what I'm saying. This is about fixing the big ___ before we worry about the small ___. I agree that there should be more gun models in the game, but it's not the most pressing issue right now, it's not even in the top 100 most pressing issues. The lack of random rolls is the number one thing that is holding this game back. The inability to choose your Crucible type is probably number 2 (if you like PVP). The fact that there is no reason to continue playing after reaching max power is number 3. And then there are 97 more. Once those are done, maybe we can start talking about adding more weapon models to the game.
Can we fix the actual problems with the game before we worry about things that don't matter much?
And yes, obviously I didn't make that clear in the OP. My bad. I did make it clear, multiple times, in the comments. Here it is now, for all of you to see, so you don't have to read through tons of comments (Who's lazy now, all of you that didn't want to read the comments but felt it necessary to comment anyway?)

This is hands down one of the most retarded comments I've ever seen... You do realise this is a game, not real life and not even a slightly realistic game at that right? This is a game about aliens, a giant terraforming ball and space magic (though very limited now unfortunately). Guns in this game are supposed to look and feel unique, not just be the same shit with different perks, for example the fallen weapons (queen breakers bow), hive weapons (black hammer) and the new cabal shotgun are so cool because they have a unique look. Not every single weapon has to be a brand new design but things like the faction rallies and Iron banner should 100% have a unique look to them as they're unique events. If you had a vex mythlocast when it first dropped and it looked like every other gun in the game I can guarantee you'd be pissed. If this were a game like cod or battlefield I would 100% agree with you, but it isn't. There's a gun that looks like the portal gun and sends people flying ffs. It's just simply lazy on bungies part and people like you are the reason they can get away with it. You clearly don't understand destiny so please stop playing.

Satire? I hope? If we're comparing Destinys guns to real guns, well, what the hell are fusion rifles? How come I chamber a round every time I reload even if I haven't shot the whole magazine? Why don't I chamber a round into a pulse rifle after reloading? Some guns look like they don't even have a long enough alot for the charging Handle to slide a bolt back to pick up the next round out of a magazine. Some magazines forward section is cut off by the thumbhole grip (check scouts for this) meaning a full size cartridge wouldn't chamber, itd just get stuck. When you reload some scouts the magazine doesn't even go into the stock at all, it just touched the stock, how would a bolt pick up a cartridge if the cartridge is miles below the bolt? I WOULD go to say that trying to justify this in this way is a false equivilance fallacy.

Here's my advice to you - realize video games guns don't have to work like real life guns, and that the limits of what different types of weapons a developer can add to it is defined strictly by the limits of his/her imagination.
