Don't forget to down vote, but also comment.
Basically, one person responds with a comment, giving what seems like good advice, then the next person comments with exactly the opposite advice, then every comment after that is something completely different, or saying they are both right.
Another good tactic is to hijack the thread with something completely off the topic entirely. Then when the topic gets moved to D2, the actual thread will be a lengthy conversation about something that has nothing to do with D2.
Don't forget to provide links to lengthy videos which are only loosely related to the topic.
Or post links to videos that are entirely off topic.

So the topic can just keep getting bumped? Yeah, great idea buddy.

Edited by OldboyVicious: 9/4/2017 11:31:08 PMYes it will get bumped. It will maybe even stay on the front page. And it will have been down voted to zero. The further up it is on the list, the sooner the Ninjas will see it and move it to D2. Hopefully, the ninjas will see our cooperative efforts to help keep topics on the correct forum, and when they see a D2 post on #offtopic, they will move it quickly. We are helping them out this way by making it easier for them to spot. So this method will allow it to get moved out of #Offtopic quicker, and with up votes at zero, it will be far back at like page 5 or 6 when it ends up on #Destiny 2. It's a very good idea, buddy.

Or it will clog up the easiest to view portion of the forum with posts waiting for a ninja to see them, when you could simply report them and actually give the web team a notification that something is wrong with the thread. You have to understand that moderating a forum with the amount of posts and users that this one has is not an easy task. The report system is put in place for us to help out with that task. By commenting on these threads, you're elevating the problem, not solving it.

You make a food point with how busy the moderators must be on this site. That is why I would rather let the creator of the post know personally that they can change which forum the topic is in by editing their post. Allowing them to self correct so the mods aren't as busy, while helping them from possibly getting banned from so many reports and down votes. By leaving a comment it helps the OP realize how to properly use the site, which helps the mods in the longer term. For now, shit posting on a D2 topic that's on the wrong forum is entertaining. But it will cease to be so on a very short time, I'm sure. So don't take what I say as intended to be argumentative with you, because I do respect where you're coming from. Yeah, my original reply in this thread may be dumb, I'll concede that. But it's dumb in the way that people say "wouldn't it be funny if we did..." and then imagining the cartoonish, comedic effects of our actions that, deep down, we know would never really happen in real life. It's all just a satirical ethos.

Yeah I get it, I've just seen this happen so many times. Most of the people who don't think of attempting to post in the correct forum also aren't paying attention any post that they don't think is pertaining to their immediate interest. You can leave thousands of comments and people will still post in the wrong place. And they won't get banned.

See what happens when you start getting old(er)? Wisdom and maturity creep in and you start looking like the crotchety old fart that wants to ruin all the fun. Just as it should be. Forward into the sea of change.
