I feel like roll three on the pdx is better for PvP. It still gets range boosts but has the stability need to land the shots.
The roll you mentioned has no stability perks and the nerfed high cal is not what it use to be.

True, but you can do consistent damage from farther away. It's really a toss up between longer range, or a little more stability
