What has Luke Smith ever done for us! Well...
Replace Romans with Luke Smith and you basically have the bungie forums.
Aside from the best raid, The Taken King story, fixing the Light leveling, a real story in D2, and reinventing patrols in D2, what has Luke Smith ever done for US!

5 RepliesThis is gonna be an unpopular statement but I actually have a lot of respect for Luke. He's done many great things for Destiny and will hopefully continue to do so. Sure, he has made mistakes but who here can say they haven't? Even if he did tear my soul out by saying Guardians with continue to be mute in D2, I'll always respect the man. If people disagree with me, that's cool but I have faith in his decision making.

He constantly suffers from foot in mouth, and things come out the wrong way. He needs to take some advice from his creative decisions and just remain mute for the remainder of the destiny franchise.

He might say stupid shit at the wrong time but he's the guy we want in charge of destiny 2. His work on the game is excellent. His interviews not so much

A Dev company like Bungie IMO yes my opinion should design games with the number one priority being... wait for it...player enjoyment. Luke Smith and all of Bungie don't do this. They design games with a preconceived notion on how they want the player to play. Should players not adhere to this plan or notion nerfs or alterations follow. We have witnessed this over and over again throughout the course of D1. This philosophy or corporate culture ultimately results in a product that becomes less fun to play over time. Sound familiar?

Welcome to opinion, where everyone is right and everyone is wrong at the same time! Here's mine to add: Luke Smith was indeed in charge of VoG. It was the best for a variety of reasons, but one good thing doesn't outweigh the other stuff he's done, in my opinion. The Taken King story was, objectively, mediocre. Was not worth $40, maybe $15, and that's pushing it. Personally, I preferred the original light system, based on gear. Should've honestly just been level based, but between infusion and gear, I prefer gear. I didn't know you played D2 to know it has a real story (you know, the response people have to negative things about D2. Works both ways). Patrols, again, can't say anything either way. Personally, should have been the open world they talked about in D1. Luke Smith hasn't done anything [i]for me[/i]. He can't have, as he's never said "Hey, Syronck, what do [i]you[/i] want in D1/D2?" If he's done it for you... lucky you, I guess. This ends another opinion in the endless wave of opinions. [spoiler]Remember kids, opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one.[/spoiler]

I gave money to charity once. WORSHIP ME. /s I am very happy that Luke Smith fixed some issues in D1. This is not D1. This is D2. Now....if somebody fixed the wobbly table I would be very happy with them. But y'all are mad if you think I can't be angry if they later rip the legs down from under it.

7 RepliesI strongly feel as though Luke Smith has some kind of autism because he doesn't have any remorse and doesn't apologize for what he says. Even I, some who has Asperger's syndrome, would go back on and correct myself for the kinds of things he has said in the past. It is either that or he does know what he said, but doesn't care. If this is the case that is very showing of his character, and he shouldn't be allowed to publicly represent Bungie. Although, if he is autistic then I feel for him, and I hope he starts seeing someone about it soon.

It is a fresh, steaming pile of guano, a super heated, raging dumpster fire. The very idea of anyone, who likes D1 or just PVE games in general, giving money to Bungievision for this Dirty Sanchez makes my stomach turn.
