The idea behind the game is to switch from PvE to PvP and back whenever you want. If you don't like that concept I believe there are other games you can play.
The idea behind the game is to switch from PvE to PvP and back whenever you want. If you don't like that concept I believe there are other games you can play.
The idea is to keep the incentive in the game and keeping the "balance" as is, it has failed.

Yr2 shotgun nerf..... they nerfed it in pvp and buffed it in pve. It worked fine.
-
They nerfed shotguns 10-12 times *before* the increase dmg for pve. Reload speed, movement & handling while equipped, lots of dmg reduction, perks removed or changed drastically, etc.
-
I know and refer to that below.

Ok. I dont think having different damage outputs affects the seamless transition between modes. Gaurdians are tougher than a lot of our enemies in pve.
The idea behind the game is to switch from PvE to PvP and back whenever you want.
So having a second loadout where you equip a extra primary instead of a special for PvP would make that THAT much harder?
If you don't like that concept I believe there are other games you can play.
Would you like to name a few? If I remember correctly the whole reason destiny was being praised was or being a unique thing that hasn't really been done before. Again separating PvE and PvP isn't gonna make two totally different experiences it's just gonna make them both balanced for their ideal ones and I think you both are blowing it out of the water or haven't played other games that have done similiar.

First of all I appreciate that you answer in a civil manner and are open for discussion which is rare in these forums. My answer might have come across a bit more harsh than it was meant to be. That may have to do with the title of the post. I am also a bit annoyed by the huge amount of posts that blame PvP for everything and some people even want I gone completely. I find Destiny unique because of the coherent experience it is. I can seamlessly switch from PvE to PvP. In PvP I play my character(s) and not some generic skin with generic weapons. Before Destiny I didn't play PvP on console at all. No I love both aspects of the game and believe that it's PvP that keeps it alive. I my opinion Bungie just didn't do a good job in balancing at all. Instead of adjusting single weapons that tend to blanket nerf a complete category and make it invalid. While this doesn't really effect me in PvE because I just font find the PvE content challenging. I am not opposed to the idea of having different rules sets for PvE and PvP as long as the feel of the game and weapons stays the same in PvE and PvP and I can still bring my character to both activities. Bungie has already shown that they are able to adjust both activities separately. I don't know what to think about the changes to the weapons class since I can't really judge how that will play out in both PvE and PvP.

People don't understand that destiny is supposed to be one coherent experience. Separating pvp and pve wouldn't make sense, to people that play a lot of both. The abilities, and weapons need to work and feel the same in any game activity.

That defeats the whole premise of a loot game. What the hell is the point grinding for loot if the crappy white gun you start with is just as good? Exactly, absolutely none. You cannot have parity between a fixed mode like pvp and loot driven progression pve and keep balance.
-
My point is they limit what cool and fun things they can do with weapons and abilities by having to balance them for PvP. PvP already barely works with RPGs and destiny only went to highlight that. Seperating PvE and PvP isn't gonna make two totally different experiences it's just gonna make them both balanced for their ideal ones and I think you both are blowing it out of the water or haven't played other games that have done similiar.
