This is wrong, because the TTK subclasses don't use light from the Traveller.
The Stormcallers uses power from the arc storm, the Nightstalkers draw their power directly from the void, and finally, the Subreakers draw their power from the Sun, forging their light in the forge near Mercury.

Edited by Haffoc: 5/14/2017 4:23:33 PMNope, Destiny's own lore proves you wrong. For Stormtrance
Focus your Light to call forth a powerful Arc storm, and siphon it, channeling lightning through your fingertips to send it surging between your targets.
During the stormcaller mission, you get a buff called Boundless Light, which supercharges your super in seconds. Clearly, Stormtrance is powered by Light. Strikers do the same things, they use their Light to summon the power of a storm. -- For Sunbreakers, who are older than the city and one of the oldest Titan orders. They originated on Earth. The only reason they are on Mercury is because of Osiris.
Forge your Light into a raging inferno of Solar energy, and pull forth a blazing hammer from the fire.
For Gunslinger
Draw a hand cannon burning with Solar Light and loaded with three rounds of sunfire
Ouros starts the Sunbreaker mission telling the Guardian that they are there to "test your Light in the Forge" She then says "Here you must prove that you are one with the Light" She then ends the mission saying "A sunbreaker doesn't answer to any but the will of the Light" Like the Stormcaller, you get a buff called Boundless Light which allows you to use your super much faster. Sunbreakers originated on Earth and were amongst the first Guardians. They are Guardians, Guardians who draw their power from the Traveller. They are one of the oldest Titan orders, they just chose not to join the City and the Vanguard. The only reason the Sunbreakers are on Mercury is because of Osiris. -- The Void of a Nightstalker is the same Void Light used by Voidwalkers and Defenders. As Ulan Tan and Toland both say, Void Light is just another form of Light. It is Light seen through a prism. The TTK subclasses are just advanced skills that most Guardians are not talented or powerful enough to master or use. Their power is still drawn from the Light of the Traveller to channel as Solar, Arc, or Void Light. To quote Ikora
Yours will be a difficult path— jagged, like lightning itself. It is only the few who have the power to call down the storm. I’ve not often seen this talent from one so young. I always knew that you were different from the others, but I never understood my unease. I'm afraid there is little left I can teach you.
For Sunbreakers, Shaxx says
What the forge does to your Light must be respected, and feared. That path is not for everyone. The Sunbreakers take the oath very seriously. I’m not trying to talk you out of anything. I’m just making sure you know the stakes. That forge breaks the brittle. And it bends the weak. But the strong, the strong walk away steeled and tempered. Unbreakable.
Woah... someone who actually reads the lore and doesn't base everything they say off of their own speculation. Srsly tho I've been telling people that the ttk subclasses are connected to the light and what byf said was wrong but everyone just replies to me "but he's byf so he's probably right and not you"
-
Yeah, I have nothing against Byf, but I do wish that those who watch all youtube actually read the lore themselves.

I wish we could re-run those missions. They were pretty fun and the narration during the mission was awesome in how a story was being told. The dialogue went well beyond a few lines of a normal mission or strike. These three missions are what I hope Bungie comes out with for D2.

There is at least one extra studio working on Destiny now. It was recently reported that Activision has 3 AAA studios working with Bungie to make sure there will be no D1 style content draught. It's plausible as Destiny is big bucks for Activision.

When it's talking about light, it's talking about your dormant light as a guardian. As in, the light you already have. And the buff for boundless light is just the name, so there's no evidence of A or B, however, my assumption is that it's the light from the arc storm/void/sun. It's not that we don't use the Light to power the subclasses, but rather that it wasn't made with it.

Edited by Haffoc: 5/14/2017 4:58:30 PMThe Light of a Guardian is the Light of the Traveller. They're the same thing. We wield the power of the Traveller. Throughout the lore of Destiny, Light is used in a singular sense, an all-encompassing sense. Light is connected across time and space. It is a singular force. It is the 'magic' of the Traveller, just as Darkness is the 'magic' of the Deep. Void, Solar, and Arc are just different forms of Light. I refer you to the Guardian grimoire
Guardians are warriors forged in the Traveler's Light, a final hope in a universe falling into Darkness. Chosen from the dead by the Traveler's Ghosts, Guardians are those rare few able to wield the Light as a weapon
From Guardian abilities
Only Guardians have the gift of the Traveler's Light - the ability to channel its energies to project vast power into the world. Even without a firearm, a Guardian is a radiant engine of destruction. While these abilities rise from within, Guardians master their power in different ways. Titans understand the Light as a force to hone through practice and strict discipline. Hunters roam and explore in order to learn, using dangerous methods to survive the wilds. And Warlocks study the Light and its inner mechanisms, confronting unfathomable mysteries in the search for transcendent might.
The worm gods refer to the traveller as the divine presence of the Sky. Oryx sent Crota to extinguish the last of the Light. Oryx calls our guardian the last hope of the Light. Yet again, note the singular use of Light. They describe the Gift Mast which is a monument made from a black-holes polar jet as
The Mast is full of the Light of the Traveler, it is full of the marrow taste of Sky.
I think the old Leviathan sums it up well
++We live on the edge of a war— —a war between Formless and Form++ ++between the Deep and the Sky— ++MY EYES ARE WIDE, MY GAZE IS LONG++ —Across the universe, as far as I see++ ++the Sky works to charge its fires— —and the Deep drowns the ash++ —Sky builds gentle places, safe for life++ ++Beloved Fundament, refuge of trillions— —The Sky treasures this rich place++
And
—Before you lies— ++The worship of death++ —The ruinous path— ++The Sky builds new life++ —Against the onset of ruin— ++Towards a gentle world++ —The Deep embraces death— ++Saying: this is inevitable and right++ —I exist as hungry ruin—
Remember, the Traveller is the divine presence of the Sky. The Deep is the Darkness. They both represent universal forces. Their power is manifested as Light and Darkness.
