The reason we have a game that was chopped up and fed to us piece by piece is Because of Activision. Choosing profit over good gaming. Activison has to please investors, and if they don't they lose money. Here is the thing: Activision could have let Bungie work on Destiny a little longer and a delay would not be unreasonable. Corporate greed is a cancer in the industry. Investors don't care about the product. They care about making money. Its why we see CoD year on year. There's no need for it but they do it anyway. Because they make millions off it. I not against making money. Every business needs to make money. We don't need to pre-order games. This practice just fuels the fire. I wish pre-order bonuses didn't exist. This all relates to the business of profit. Are companies that uncertain of a product that they need to add happy meal toys to entice us? There's a lot i want say but i am tired. Have a good day/night

I love how a company wanting to make money is a evil thing. The company I work for wants its technicians to sell product in the field and some of my coworkers complain about it, that they didn't sign up to be a salesman. God forbid the company that pays us good money to do our job wants to make more. Hell for 20% commission I'll sell as much as I can. Kids these days just don't get how it all works.

It is easy to tell who the kids are around here. lol

Edited by Elitespear: 4/28/2017 9:55:40 AMThe reason destiny exists is because of activision. You think bungie signed with them for fun? They didn't have the money to fund the development. Grow up, if you don't like it don't buy it

bungie makes deals with Activision. they aren't victims. grow up and educate yourself "corporate greed"...😂😂😂😂

12 RepliesSo many things wrong with Trump's wall of text here: 1) Pre-order dollars DO NOT go to Activision. They go to the retailers, and are kept by the retailers. The benefit that a publisher gets from high pre-orders, are that retailers will order and PAY for large supplies of a game that looks popular. Otherwise pre-orders money is never seen by a publisher. 2) Without Activision, it would have been someone else forcing their hand... Microsoft, EA, Sony etc. Companies need to make money, and the longer you delay a product, the less money you're going to make. The more cost you put into a product, the less profit you make. Even if Bungie was an independent studio, the cost of making game these days is very high (salaries, benefits, equipment, studio costs, rent etc). Publishers have that kind of money to fund large products, individual studios do not have the resources to fund production for 4-5 years on 1 game. 3) The reason Vanilla Destiny was changed, was highlighted in the 3 Activision/Bungie lawsuits. It was too similar to Halo in storyline, and they needed to change that. The heads of Bungie made that decision to change it. Activision just wanted to put the product out as is, so would you have preferred an unfinished Halo copy or a chopped up Vanilla Destiny with no story? Either way, the initial idea was going to fall flat.

5 RepliesEdited by moobz: 4/27/2017 8:44:53 AMI do have a question for everyone, this is regarding the "pre-order" of games. I'm not sure why people hate it so much? The money isnt taken out of your account until the game is available/dispatched for delivery by the sellers. Why hate it? It's not like anyone has your money before the development is over. This is a genuine question. Kids who have nothing better to do with their lives and troll or be a d*** just stay away......

Maybe you could start a GoFundMe campaign for the $500 million Activision dedicated to Bungie for publishing Destiny?
-
18 RepliesOh dear, Whatch out Bungie and Activision! Chamoo81 has figured you all out and he's going to make you two lose profit.

7 RepliesEdited by terrorfraud: 4/27/2017 6:48:01 PMOr they could fire their sandbox team and get a mix of casuals and top tier players.

Thank God someone sees it the way I do. Same reason I'm not pre ordering D2. I will CoD WW2 but not the DLC. I'm not gonna just hand em my wallet like I've been doing over the years!
-
2 RepliesActivision is prolly behind most of this games funding, too. So I mean if you want Destiny 2 to look like a Telltale game...
-
Bungie is a shitty company i wish a differnt company made it.

21 RepliesThe only cut content that was fed to us was The Dark Below and House of Wolves

1 ReplyWHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT CUT CONTENT!!!! That shit is old news and just needs to be buried.

9 RepliesEdited by joe_ryan_mc: 4/27/2017 9:53:58 PMUnfortunatley, Activision is a necessary evil. All Bungie does is make the game. I believe Activision funds it, markets it, and distributes it. The only other major publisher I can think of off the top of my head that does multi-platform games is Electronic Arts, and I'm pretty sure they were named the worst company in America or some shit like that. EDIT: I just did a search for top game publishers for 2017 and according to Metacritic the top 5 are: 1.) E.A. 2.) Square Enix. 3.) Nintendo. 4.) Sony. 5.) Xseed (Marvelous USA). Never heard of them though. Activision and Ubisoft were listed as #7 & # 10 respectively. Publishers such as Microsoft, Sega, Bethesda, Take Two, and Warner Bros were listed as "mid-size" companies and have their own rankings.

2 RepliesIf Bungie leaves activision then no more Destiny or Destiny 2. Bungie is a game producer. They just make the game, but to fund that game, market that game and make a reach a global market, that's Activision. Activision is the one who gave them the 500 million dollar fund over a 10 year span. Unless another company comes up to Bungie Studios and makes them the same offer or better don't expect Bungie to leave any time soon
-
Probably too late now but, I wish.
-
Can't/won't happen. I want to hear from a former bng employee about how it was working with AtV. Doubt any of it will be complements.
-
Since Activi$ion is involved with many other companies, is it breaking antitrust laws?
-
Activision needs to either stop their greedy nonsense or gtfo. I'm done with CoD's pay to win, underage gambling ring and look what they have done to Destiny. Granted that Bungie didn't give in like Treyarch and Infinity Ward, they still have taken a lot and implemented too many things for real money.
-
You can't. Activision is will almost every game.
-
Its true, but is a new business
-
They can't, they're under a contract.
-
1 ReplyOkay kid. Whatever you say. Good luck surviving in the real world without money. Remember, don't be greedy. Just make enough to barely survive. Oh, and have fun.
-
2 RepliesIt's not as simple as "just leaving"
