10 RepliesThe New York Times Headline: The Game Gets Real The gunplay from a popular video game called Destiny took a shocking, real life turn today, when a crazed fan of the game gunned down one of the games developers, Josh Hamrick. Sources say the gunman fashioned a real-life version of one of the "handcannons", called "The Last Word", a full auto revolver, from the game, stalked Mr. Hamrick, and gunned him down while he was eating dinner at a Seattle restaurant. Witnesses quoted the gunman as saying, "This is how far handcannons should shoot, b!tch.", as he seemed to purposely stand as far back away from Mr. Hamrick as possible, before firing. Only the first bullet hit Mr. Hamrick, the others missing entirely. Luckily, the gunman had positioned himself so far away from Mr. Hamrick, as the one bullet that did hit, only caused minimal damage. We're told that Mr. Hamrick is in stable condition at a Seattle hospital, and is in good spirits. Mr. Hamrick told local reporters, "It's a good thing the gunman fashioned the handcannon after my latest designs, otherwise I may not be here to talk about it." After the shooting, the gunman dropped his weapon, sat on the ground, and began crying. Police were able to take the gunman into custody without resistance. We're told that police found a shotgun in a bag that the gunman was carrying, but there was no ammunition for it.

17 RepliesIs anyone else pissed off about Raid primaries being exotic? I started playing just VOG and absolutely loved the primaries and the ability to use an elemental primary.... I understand someone may have already complained about this but it just seems so stupid. This is yet another reason why people no longer want to play this game. I hope for Bungies sake they learn from their mistakes and don't do the same crap to Destiny 2

Effectively, Bladedancer got a buff, since the best Bladedancer stopper in existence got nerfed into useless dog crap. And will remain useless dog crap, since the special ammo nerf remains.

5 RepliesI appreciate the increased communication, I just don't appreciate what i'm hearing from it. The health regen perks that are being left as is, is poor. The nerfs to Truth, Quickdraw (inc aspects), landfall (instead of ionic blink!!) and Skorris are terrible. The special ammo economy being left as it is, but with the added nerf of sidearms only spawning with a single mag is still a huge mistake. Once i've completed any crucible based pages in the new record book, i'm just gonna stick to running the new raids for the gear.

If you keep nerfing one thing, something else will be OP which means you will have to follow the cycle of nerfs within the then less popular OP item, if your objective is seasonal balance and you continually fail to do this by instead nerfing on popularity, you are therefore not 'balancing' properly on the merit of sandbox control but instead creating a Frankenstein version of seasonal balance controlled by player hype. You are therefore not in control of your own subjective view of 'balance'. Which means you do not know what you're really doing long term, which means you have little understanding of how to maintain the game. Destiny is a sci-fi casual shooter with a MMO-inspired background. Counter-Strike is a hardcore based shooter with a key emphasis on an attempt on balance to fit the ultra competitive market. Destiny is not counter strike. Repeat after me, Destiny is not Halo 3 MLG. The foundations of this game aren't designed for such. So every time you try and continually fail to make it so, you don't just lose players, you lose understanding of the game you're responsible to maintain. I can't think of any other word to explain this action besides, unqualified.
