First off, I'm okay with Raid Levels being brought up. It gives people other ways to get to max light.
My problems with this reveal...
1. The new raid loot - some people will think it's cool. I'd be fine with it, IF, we could infuse up our old RAID loot. If you're bringing back the raids, give us the same guns at 400. Let us end Destiny 1 overpowered and in style. Give us the choice to play the old RAIDS over again, don't make it a chore just to get the new gear that looks slightly different but doesn't have nearly the perks. Not being able to infuse the old gear makes it a waste of time having earned it in the first place, only to replace it with the LESS POWERFUL new versions. Worst of all...I'LL HAVE TO GRIND FOR THE MYTHOCLAST ALL OVER AGAIN WHEN I ALREADY HAVE IT ON BOTH XBOX ONE AND PS4!!!!
2. Time locked RAIDS - why not unlock all RAIDS on March 28th? Why make us wait 3 weeks before all are finally available? You can still have the featured raid of the week, just let us play them all.
3. More redundant things in the Age of Triumphs book - really??? More Strikes??? More crucible specific milestones??? I've already spent thousands of hours getting 3, 400 characters on both Xbox One and PS4. I've ran hundreds of strikes and killed thousands of people in Crucible, why the need to do a few more when I've already done so many? I guess I'm just not that interested in grinding more redundant activities for a few emblems. Just me, if this is your thing, congratulations...you get to grind more strikes.
I'm not really meaning this to be a RANT, anything new is better, it's just not a reason to keep playing. No gear is carrying over to Destiny 2. This is just grinding for the sake of grinding.
If all of our old gear was simply infusable, I'd be really happy with the change. But having them make all old raid gear obsolete, just to chase it all over again in a weaker state, is wrong to me. Like I said in the title...SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR AWAY!!!
P.S. if you're happy with the changes, I'm glad for you. It's a great game and can be fun. I've just been chasing the same carrots for nearly 3 years with Destiny and was really looking for something more than recycled content posed as something new.
Edit: Too funny, all the comments telling me #2 is wrong. Go back and watch the reveal stream starting at 52:00. It's called the "Rollout Schedule". 1 raid a week starting March 28th going through April. After each Raid has its week of Challenge mode, it's then unlocked.
… IF, we could infuse up our old RAID loot.
I know it sucks, but c'mon. Bungie isn't that stupid. If you could do that, why would you even play the updated raids at all? You literally wouldn't get anything reward-wise from it if you could just play the easier versions and infuse them to max.

Not being able to infuse the old gear makes it a waste of time having earned it in the first place
Yeah, all that time you spent in Y1 using raid weapons -- wasted. You gained nothing during that time, no sir-y.
Time locked RAIDS - why not unlock all RAIDS on March 28th?
Why not play other games? For a serious answer, it prevents all of the changes from being solved the first week by no-lifers so the slightly less addicted can still experience the mystery.

5 RepliesActually #2 is referring to which raids will be the featured raid, not the 390 raids. All of the raids will come at 390 the day the event is released.

I'm not really meaning this to be a RANT
Too late. You also have literally no idea what the new raid weapons will be like so why don't you stop sperging for like 2 seconds and go outside for some fresh air or something. Good lord.

5 RepliesThis was the most pointless blabbering of entitlement I've read in a while. If you dislike it that much then don't do it.

1 ReplyEdited by billvr001: 3/9/2017 1:42:24 PMWhat I'm a little upset about is there are supposedly 2 ornament slots on each piece of armor... so this is looking like an insane amount of grind to get complete set of raid ornamented gear across 3 characters from each raid...

only to replace it with the LESS POWERFUL new versions
We do not know this yet......
Time locked RAIDS - why not unlock all RAIDS on March 28th? You can select the higher light versions for the raids from the director at any time.

About #2.... my guess is that you could be able to play any raid since launch, but you will have to beat the difficulties. The featured raid is just the way you as player have to access the new "raid gear" that week.
-
Well....about infusing issues....if you were able to infuse the one you have you would not play as often as bungie wants you to play. Until destiny 2 six.months remain, so one featured raid per week makes sense. Time enough to gather all the new things and not feel upset with destiny cuz has nothing to offer during half a year. About strikes and crucible I think that many of those requirements are retroactive. Like went to the lighthouse. If you've done it, you will have unlocked.

1 ReplyYes, i think it should just track all of our records, and unlock accordingly. Whats the point of getting more stuff when we cant use them in Destiny 2?
-
6 RepliesWhy on earth would you want to just infuse the old gear you have? That's not fun that's not fun at all

Agree. There was an excellent post a few days ago by someone who suggested that Destiny should have finished with a cliff hanger for Destiny 2. Now that I would have played. This is not for me. I have no wish to do any more strikes, raids etc. in the hope of having a chance to BUY a tshirt. I would not do it even it were free but acknowledge that there are those who would and will. But , of course, we are all different so I wish everyone who does play this content enjoyment from it.

Edited by spectes11: 3/9/2017 6:07:05 AMI think it would better harder if they put them all out at once because everyone would kinda trying to them all at once and it would be hard to choose honestly which raid to do and it would be much harder to find a raid group to do it with because everyone would be spread out. This update is also helping out other people who haven't done the old raids.Plus I bet you people would probably be doing vog and crotas end one more time Before destiny 2 so they might as well bring it up to a higher light level so we have a bit of reason to grind it and use that stuff in other activities in destiny 1 before destiny 2
I'm not really meaning this to be a RANT, anything new is better, it's just not a reason to keep playing. No gear is carrying over to Destiny 2. This is just grinding for the sake of grinding.
It's simple. Play or don't play. I intend to play for fun. I'm also ok with the new raids being scheduled. Is it really important to consume everything immediately? There are two streams left to give us the full picture of what this update contains but for a free update this appears to be quite substantial.

16 Replies#2 is completely false. The challenge mode of the raid is a weekly rotation, however all updated raids are available on the 28th.
-
Well hopefully most of your book is filled out then, because a lot of the crucible/strike stuff is pre-recorded in the book right? So you shouldn't have to grind out crucible or strikes anymore if you've already done your fair share like you've stated
-
I agree with the strikes and crucible requirements. I've done my fair share of rumble and rift

6 RepliesThere's no time lock raid. All raids are going to be available at launch Reason why they explain which raid will be a go first is for they can give us to what to expect in the feature raids.
