3 concussions from hockey and doc said If I got another it could be perm brain damage and I shouldn't play contact sports anymore

1 ReplyFor a man who plays full contact sports, I am surprised I never once broke a bone or got a concussion. Honestly I've been hit extremely hard and I've gotten flattened so many times but I somehow never broke anything.
I really shouldn't speak too soon lol
I broke the shinbones in my left leg in a moped (or whatever they are called in english, those 50cc bikes) accident some years ago. Also my left collarbone got dislocated and one of the ribs broke as well which pierced my lungs. Had to wait for at least 15 minutes for an ambulance. The waiting was horrible, but once they pumped some morphine in me it was all good lol.

1 ReplyConsidering all the abuse I've been through in my life. Amazingly I've never actually broken a bone, which when I think about it is quite amazing. Though I have had several concussions.

1 ReplyEdited by shell: 2/6/2017 12:37:50 PMI used to be left handed before I broke my arm. How does that even happen?
-
1 ReplyNo, but I ran head first into a bush of thorns as a 4 year old.
-
1 ReplyDislocated my arm once or twice and sprained a few things before, but nothing serious :| ~Have a nice day!

3 RepliesI broke my foot clean in half just in front of the toes by jumping off a roof to impress a girl in 5th grade. I think it went well. Mangled my pinky toe on the god damn couch leg, smashed a couple knuckles on some knucklehead's head and got a concussion acting like a knucklehead at work. The only one I regret that damned couch.

1 ReplyI sprained my left ankle about 3 times, but that's about it.
The luckiest seven you will ever meet
1 ReplyNot of the above. Although I've done some dumb stuff, I've never been seriously injured.

2 RepliesEdited by superuber2011: 2/6/2017 5:27:38 AMMy skull was broken and punctured. Two weeks before I was going into grade 8 we where at my moms cousins bridal shower. My cousins and I where sitting on this Amish made chair swing. It was like made out of three logs and held together with railroad spike. (Big ass nails) So the four of us are sitting on this swing and lol of a sudden it just breaks. I being the tallest took the hit directly. The top log broke free from the supporting logs and I got hit on the upper back of my head with one of the spikes, and it was drove into my skull by the weight of the log. I don't remember much after that. I blacked out. I remember everyone rushing across the yard to us. I tired to stand up. Blacked out. My moms cousins Ron was an EMT and telling me not to fall asleep but I was so tired and just wanted to sleep. The ambulance came. Then I was in a hospital. And then I woke up with a bunch of staples in my skull and thick bandages around my head. Edit: After that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. Doctors don't know if it was due to the brains trauma or not

1 ReplySeveral concussions.

3 RepliesI fell from 20 ft out of a tree last years and didn't break a bone(barely came out with a scratch) and didn't even get a concussion. Still have never broken a bone or gotten a concussion.

2 RepliesPlaying baseball got a concussion. The catcher was being cheeky while I was batting and trying to throw the ball back as close to my face as possible. He messed up his throw and threw it right on my face. I don't know if I was knocked out for a few mins or something but the next thing I remembered was my face being half covered in blood and seeing one of my teamates (who was also a football player) ram the catcher.

I sprained my right foot and I did the same to my wrists. I also have popped my knee out of place.

1 ReplyNo. I'm a sensible human being who doesn't take stupid risks if the results aren't worth it.
