I enjoy it a lot! Now that I know how to actually execute combos and abuse certain system attacks, I'm obliterating everyone I face as an Orochi! The only downside I've seen so far are the servers and how disgusting legitimate 4v4 Dominion in PVP, instead of PVAI.

I love Orochi as well. The attacks and stuff are so good and the revenge mode is insane when it's active. I've only played one game of 2v2s but I've had a ton of fun in 4s. Yesterday I got a double kill just by sitting on one of the ladders and waiting for the enemy to come down it. Punched em both in the grundle and they fell to their deaths. Honestly it's everything I hoped it would be and I cannot wait for the story
-
Yeah! I haven't been following the game much, but I'm LOVING it! You on PS4? Wouldn't mind running with someone who also likes my fighting style, haha!
-
Nah playing on Xbox one (haven't played any PS since my PS2 broke and I got an Xbox to play halo) but I'll be posting videos this week of some craziness in each of the three multiplayer modes if you've got time to watch them. I tried to convince my friends that I normally play destiny with to get for honor but none of them liked assassins creed (AC is my favorite game series ever) so they probably won't get it. I'll be mostly solo hahah. And the beginning cutscene for the beta sets up the whole of the story which is going to be amazing. There are some videos from Ubisoft and the Dev team that explain a lot more of the game. I've been looking forward to it for months
-
So if i dislike assassin's creed I will probably dislike for honor?
-
Umm maybe. It depends on what you dislike about AC. If you like the fighting and combat in the newest mortal kombat and then a mix of that and the way that you block and parry in AC then you would like for honor. I can't speak about the story because I haven't gotten to play it yet
-
Mostly what I don't like about assassin's creed is the plot hole ridden stories. The climbing and free running is pretty entertaining. The combat looks pretty but is very simple and not very challenging. Brotherhood is my favorite, only because of the multiplayer. I didn't play the campaign at all but the multiplayer was excellent. For honor looks pretty but just seems like a slightly better dynasty warriors with less characters.
-
I've never played dynasty warriors so I cannot speak to that. But there are 9 characters in total in for honor and the combat varies significantly depending on your character. I've always loved AC for the history and the worlds that they build within the game. I liked the idea of the Templars VS the Assassins (though at times it was a bit of a clunky plot line). Just my preference though
-
Sweet! And yeah, I've been an XB guy up until the launch of the PS4 and the XB1 around that Christmas (PS4 was about $30-$50 cheaper, lol). I have a question for you: in 2v2's, do you kill your opponent and then go help your teammate kill the other one? I do this, and apparently it's a move "without honor" according to some thread on here.
-
Hahah I would never not help my teammate. To me I would think it would be dishonorable not to help your teammate. And if you play against AI they team up when it's 1v2 so, to me, if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me haha. Mostly I've had so much fun with the samurai and the counter strike ability. I went right to them. I know the knights are really strong once they've been leveled and Vikings are great in 4s but there's just something about the Samurai to me
-
Yeah! The moment my friend brought up factions, I immediately made sure we were all going Samurai - haha! And I didn't even think about the AI, that's true.. I suppose I'd rather be dishonorable than a loser. And how have you been doing with parrying and such? I've struggled with it a little.
-
I love the faction separation and I think that it's much more balanced between the three than in destiny. I do alright with parrying but it feels somewhat clunky. I may have to get some thumstick pads if I'm going to try to make that work better. To me, though, the dodging and subsequent attacks from that are so much better than parrying. The two orochi after-dodge attacks cannot be blocked and are insanely fast. I think that's the point of the orochi though. I would assume with a knight their strength is more in parrying and blocking attacks than trying to dodge. Have you gotten any aerial instant kills in 1v1s? I got one yesterday and it was awesome
-
Ah, true! I'm not going to lie, I've started many fights with Storm Rush and do some sweet reversal on an opponent as I cleave the crap out of 'em! It's basically my only "I kinda know this isn't all that fair but oh well" move. And the only insta-kill I've ever actually gotten was throwing two people off the edge in a 2v2.
-
Edited by ABefuddledLion: 1/29/2017 4:01:49 PMHahah I'm still trying to be the one doing the throwing and not the one that is thrown off lol. And I've almost mastered running at my enemy, rolling past them, then guard breaking into them and heavy attacking into their face. Works about 70% of the time for me. I love it because it's so much like a real fight (or a chess match) where the opening move is critically important to success They've also made the AI really good so it actually is a good opponent
-
Ooh, that sounds sweet! I'm gonna have to try that next time. I suggest you look at your combo listings and see how you do Storm Rush. It's actually insanely fun to just rush at an enemy, throw them back, and then Storm Rush back into them and repeat. It's the perfect storm of stun, haha!
-
Hahah yeah I feel like I'm back trying to master mortal kombat. Remembering all the combos and then trying to prevent myself from just mashing buttons and actually being strategic. I know how to storm rush but I am still working on making it be effective haha
-
Yeah, for sure! What I did is went in with my friend in custom matches, set it to Duel and Best out of 99 with no time limit and we just practiced all our combos. On a different note, I'm a little upset the Orochi execution you can buy (Choke On This - you push your weapon into their throats and hold it there before brutally yanking it out) is so expensive. I wanna be a special snowflake, haha! BTW: I know I'm a creep, but I see you're a Titan main on Destiny - I'm the same, and I've never seen anyone come close to pulling that shader you're using off up until today.
-
Hhaah yeah I didn't even bother with the special execution. I think the spin move to head decapitation is perfectly brutal in it's own right. I would have prefered that they went with something that was more like a traditional samurai execution. Something involving impaling at the place where their neck meets their shoulder and then a flick of the sword to separate the persons body in half diagonally (I know that's brutal but it would be more in line with actual Samurai practices and more fitting--in my opinion). And I'm not a titan main, ahah. I'm a hunter main but I love my titan so much. She's the bossest bitch in the place and that shader looks so damn good on her
-
Preach; and lol I just saw that your Titan had the highest light level, my bad. That would be a cool execution - I totally agree! Maybe they'll add more as time goes on. I'm thinking I will get this game, but what's really convincing me to get it is that Steel is strictly in-game currency.
-
Yep. I love the way that Ubisoft has set up this game and how it looks that in game currency will function. I honestly cannot wait for the full game to be released and I've had so much fun playing the Beta. I haven't been this excited for a game since GTA V came out.
-
Haha, nice! Best of luck to you, fellow Orochi!
-
Same to you my friend! Perhaps someday I shall see you on the battlefield (provided they have cross platform play or I get a playstation hah). And thanks for checking out my video. I appreciate it so much. Check back later this week if you have time or want to watch me attempt to be successful with my Orochi hah
