Seriously.
-blam!-ing don't.
I'm not playing destiny for your endless grind loot and shoot, I'm playing it to play an interesting character (none so far, so don't mess with the gear of the thing I built from the scrap you call "loot.") play a cool story, and have fun actually fighting players.
Now don't -blam!-ing make me go out and do the grind all over again it feels like a race where the end cause is literally -blam!-ing to do it all over again. Introduce new gear, that's it, if I like it I like it, don't -blam!-ing force me to dismantle my blood sweat and tears. Items I accumulated through hours of enjoyment. I hold sentimentality in a lot of things especially in video games because they're not real, the sentiments I make for them are. So don't stomp all over that and have some respect for the artists you hire in making these items, taking advantage of the weak willed who are just willing to go out and grind for it again (me.) is just not right.
Now, go out hire some more people and start to make some in game cutscenes, make something as epic and interactive as Halo 1/2/3/ODST/Reach, over-do it, make it open world lively atmosphere that it was going to have, and kick ass in doing it. Stop letting activision pull the strings, okay?

Edited by dnrobs: 1/1/2017 8:16:02 AMSo no campaign, you're already levelled up and go straight to end game?

8 RepliesNo one would like Destiny 2 if you had everything from the start A game called Dead Island tried this with Riptide and starting a game at max level is just no fun at all and gives you nothing to work for
-
14 RepliesGo play COD, the reason to play Destiny is to get loot/gear
-
2 RepliesIt's a looter shooter....I'd probably try a different game if I were you.

Edited by blade329: 12/29/2016 7:54:32 PMThen Destiny might not be the right game for you. With all the whining that goes on around here, the META is constantly changing. Guns you love to use right now, may be less viable after an update. It's funny that the people who complain the most are the one's forcing the changes that make the game less likable for themselves. It's amazing. People complained about Auto Rifles being too OP in Year 1. Now they are complaining that they suck in Year 3. LOL.

19 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 12/27/2016 4:46:29 PMThen you need to go play your standard shooter. Like Halo. Because this is simply how loot-based RPGs and MMOs work. Which is why players of these games bond with their CHARACTERS....and not with the GEAR. To us, the gear is nothing but a means to an end. A necessary tool in order to take on the game's powerful enemies. Not every game is for everybody.

16 RepliesBungie needs to wake the hell up and make a foundation and build from there.... First the game was released under false pretense. Stating it was a cross between Halo and Final fantasy. The Halo's smooth play is correct because it's Bungie, but the Final fantasy world? Not even close... so here everyone goes collecting gear and weapons that were an actual incentive in this game. It made the grind worth it in the end because the gear and weapons worked as intended. Not now... Then they go on making etheric light that wasn't such an over gring to stretch out content. It actually worked out well and you were able to use your gear that you first grinded for when the game was released, but it was mighty nice of Bungie not to mention to gamers that they were adding vault space prior to this. Bungie use last gen as an excuse and said they couldn't add Vault space but somehow managed to do it without telling anyone till the last moment. Causing Gamers to delete a lot of the gear they acquired when they first played the game. Then comes Ttk with Bungie's lovely blue print system. Hmm, I wonder what that system is actually for? Lol. This system makes no sense at all when there is no loot in this game or enough content for it to be useful. I don't want to figure who's the moron that came up with this idea knowing it's not being used as intended and can't at this point be used as intended knowing bungie is wiping out the entire last couple years when D2 is released. Can we say catering to the Casual player because we focus our attention mostly on streamers. Since y1 nerf and Bungie making half the game irrelevant there is no point in this game to acquire endgame content especially knowing there is no incentive. The gear and weapons in this game have been watered down so much that they hold no sense of value and for anyone to get attached to them is pointless at this point. None of it is actually put to a challenge and none of it works as intended. Light level in this game leaves gear and weapons in this game pointless knowing no one has or no one ever will need max on anything in this game to complete anything in this game. Bungie killed their own concept of this game the day y1 nerf took place. Your characters is supposed to be becoming more powerful and your gear and weapons should be complementing each other as a character in all aspects. ( y1 literally had all that ) Bungie took all that away for the sake of stretching out content and PvP. So you will always be regrinding for the same gear and weapons because Bungie has nothing to off this game. Especially knowing Luke Smith is running it.

Welcome to Destiny. It's always been about the mindless grind.

5 RepliesMaybe it's just because I've played other RPGs, but I don't see your point. I'm a huge dark souls fan (praise the moon, fűck the sun) and I didn't get all whiny and bitchy when I couldn't bring my character from ds1 forward to 2 and then again to 3. The weapons and characters from that game are much more unique than the ones in destiny as well so yea... If I can start over in dark souls without crying you should be able to in destiny. The only thing I hate was that when the game was first released we were told that our characters would follow us for the 10 year journey. That point does make me slightly annoyed knowing they kinda flat out lied in our faces. Then again this bungievision bullshit company has lied to us for 2 years straight now repeatedly and some people still bend over and take it.

4 RepliesSome people like grind. Gives them a reason to play
-
Have fun restarting you're grind in D2 Guardian. Haha.
-
They will put all your gear behind an RNG bounty that you can only do once per character once a week
-
Yep trying to get good rolls on some guns takes years same they took reforge out can't brotherd to grind for years I just go play another game.
-
Agree that the time invested in D1 is too much just to throw everything away and start over. For players that can't wait for a new grind - delete all three toons and have at it! 😀 Destiny 2 will not be a better game due to resetting everyone and starting the grind over. D2 will be lucky to get a 7.8 critic score if they go this route (probably less since everyone has now "been there, done that"). D2, to be a wild success, just needs to bring more CONTENT, and optional matchmaking for all of the content. Just a few possible ideas PVE: 1. 6 man raid endgame (raid with optional matchmaking) 2. 3 man strike endgame (nightfall w/ optional matchmaking) 3. Solo endgame (think Halo legendary) 4. All content scale able with appropriate light level rewards (people should be able to run VoG and be rewarded for doing so) 5. Bring back op weapons for use in the grindy aspects of the game. Limit their use in new content if needed ( it would have been easy for Bungie to add a perk to ToM to simply state that it was ineffective against Siva bosses; instead they nerfed it to hell) 6. Long, immersive story 7. Fallout/Skyrim side quests PVP (in addition to what is currently offered) 1. Weekly mode where everyone plays with the same weapon/armor set-up 2. Crucible Nightfall modifiers (double health, half health, catapult, brawler, small arms, etc) 3. Add enemy AI to certain crucible modes to spice it up 4. Bot mode for practice 5. Trials with optional matchmaking A new grind won't make D2 great. More/Better content and greater accessibility will.

1 ReplyIt is a grind based RNG game. Restarting is literally how the game works. WoW, Everquest, Diablo, all games of this nature work reset our progress.

make something as epic and interactive as Halo 1/2/3/ODST/Reach, over-do it, make it open world lively atmosphere that it was going to have, and kick ass in doing it.
But Halo made you get gear with every new release...
Now don't -blam!-ing make me go out and do the grind all over again it feels like a race where the end cause is literally -blam!-ing to do it all over again.
Got some bad news for you, with D2 you will definitely be starting over with new gear. Hell, we may be starting over with new characters altogether. Coming in here and writing a threatening post isn't going to change that. Play the game or don't. It's meant to be fun as a continuous journey, not an end that drags on into eternity. IF you get the best gear you have nothing to chase, you have no reason to play. Let's follow your logic - New release for Destiny - people blow through content using OP gear from before - within two weeks people would be complaining about how there is nothing to do. -blam!-ing success right there.
I hold sentimentality in a lot of things especially in video games because they're not real, the sentiments I make for them are.
This doesn't even make sense. You are getting irrationally upset about something that you admit isn't real. You want nostalgia put it in the -blam!-ing vault and stare at it. Just look at how -blam!-ing nice that is sitting there. Congratulations you got that gear. Now complain about the lack of vault space like everyone else. They need to pad their numbers some how

60 RepliesThis poor soul never knew the forever 29 days if he's complaining about the current state.... Its okay little light, us guardians have braved struggles you never had to.
-
I don't mind. I got my icebreaker for a losing crucible match. Pretty easy. Y'all complain about the wrong things :/
-
82 RepliesI see you've never played a mmo before.
-
but what if they over-haul the game and make it so much different? the loot will be absolete anyway so who cares.. and even if we do get to bring our items over.. the first items we get in D2 will be stronger anyway? so you would have to get rid of them to become a stonger player, they wouldnt let us bring all our stuff over just to keep using in d2 LOL
-
It's really strange seeing the exact words in my head typed out and knowing I didn't do it. I agree with all of this.
-
3 RepliesTldr don't give me more content that requires progression because I'd rather be playing Halo Smh what a pointless thread
-
4 RepliesLOLOL Suck it up princess, we Y1 players have ALREADY been through this and it was BS when we went through it, and it'll be BS when you go through it. Guess what? You always have the option to walk away and play something else. Many of us already took that option!
