85.89% kills with a special weapon in Trials right now are from shotguns.

Shotgun usage last week went up, this week it went up another 38%. That puts the total at 85.89% Something needs to be done about this... Bungo pls. Primaries are obsolete at this point, and that is sad. The Burning Shrine only had 53% shotgun usage, and 38% sniper usage in secondaries. Those numbers are far better, and make the game much more enjoyable. For those of you wondering what % primaries are being used at right now compared to secondary weapons, I don't know. Unfortunately it doesn't compare primary vs secondary. But with a shotgun number up at 85%, and usage gone up by 38% it's pretty safe to say the majority of players aren't even using a primary. I'd like to see a change, it's difficult for Bungie to cater to everyone. But if these numbers weren't so far on opposite ends of the spectrum, the game would be more fun. It would nice to see those numbers evened out across the board. A small solution could simply be, allow less ammo for shotguns. They are high risk high reward, and should be used as such. My titan can hold over 18 shotgun shells, that will last an entire Trials match. I can literally use a Special Weapon the entire time and never even switch to my primary. This is not right. EDIT: For everyone saying these numbers are only because of the last 2 weeks with no radar/revive. You are WRONG. These numbers are pretty consistent over the last 9 weeks. Shotguns FOR THE LAST 9 WEEKS have been used OVER 20% MORE THAN SNIPERS. EVERY WEEK. The ONLY week it was even, was 10 weeks ago, when Trials was the assorted playlist. They were both around 48% usage. After that, the following 9 weeks, shotguns dominated by over 20% EVERY WEEK. Source: www.destinytrialsreport.com "Percentages are based on usage of weapon types in relation to total kills in their category."
Yes, I use a shotgun A LOT. I feel like I have to during this meta.
• I made this post last week and this week showing the %. People seem to be fine with this BS The -blam!-ed up part is you have 85% shotgun kills. What that doesnt account for is the melee after one shot which probably happens AT LEAST 1/4 of the time. So its a lot higher than what these % show because this just shows the shot. Its horrid weapon balance. Sure no radar helps shotguns but even in semi open areas theres so much cover on every map that a shotgunner can make his way to you easily and close the gap making it a close combat shotgun fight.

The last two weeks cant speak for the overall numbers. The last 2 weeks was no radar and small CQC maps. therefore shotguns are much more encouraged. Take the last shotgun buff away and shotguns would still be a huge percentage these last 2 weeks. Wait in till this week end and it should even back out.

    • It only went up because trials both weeks were with no radar. It's easier to sneak around and get kills quicker when using a shotgun. It will go down as soon as the radar and revives come back
