Lack of matchmaking the biggest obstacle to enjoy the game...

edit: i didnt expect as many replies , i was just a bit frustrated bout the un-userfriendly experience lately (technically since day 1), thanks for keeping it civil and voicing your opinion

10 RepliesUntil you get it, you might think so. Then you'll experience players going AFK, players with no mics, players doing stupid things, players under-leveled, etc. There are posts almost daily on problems with the matchmaking in strikes. And these problems will be worse for the higher level things like PoE, Nigthfall and raids. The external matchmaking sites give you a say in who you play with and there are far less of these problems.

Bungie doesnt want to pay for private servers, yet their severs cant affort hosting matchmaking for everything... try overwatch, smite, battlefield, MW

1 ReplyI won't lie, I also found those lfg posts annoying but I have been called annoying from time to time as well lol. I don't play every night but I play regularly so just shoot me an invite and the next time our schedules line up we can shoot some aliens. Also I prefer rolling without a mic so that sounds good too ;-)

10 RepliesI hear a lot of whining but I don't get why. If matchmaking was implemented, everybody would still be able to create private fireteams with friends or lfg. No one would force them to use matchmaking. Or am I missing something? Why is everybody whining like girls?

2 RepliesStrongly agree. EXACT REASON why I stopped playing and only came back because you're not required to raid to achieve max light(will take alot longer but still). Had so many raid teams fall apart to the point where we gave up or other people would join via a friend or so and was ass and people gave up leaving two maybe 3 people still willing to finish. In those instances Noone has time or want to wait at whatever checkpoint hoping someone from the forum will get back to them. Honestly it's not really a problem anymore but when the game required you to raid to get better gear it did. Btw what's wrong with making the "social areas" aka earth and whatever the new one will be actually social in finding people for groups? And matchmaking.

8 RepliesYou really don't want matchmaking.Other games(like FFXIV and The Division are just 2)that have raids and similar activities have matchmaking and it is full of trolls that do shit on purpose to make the raid fail or do absolutely nothing.Then you have to kick them and hope you don't get another troll or freeloader. I don't have a problem looking on the forum and/or a lfg site. If you can post on the forum to complain.You can surely post in a raid finder and/or reply to a raid finder post.

6 RepliesI stopped playing for this exact reason. Supposedly the most expensive game to create but lacks a small feature that is critical. I liked the game. It became repetitive and the lack of opportunity to gain better gear due tolack of matchmaking ruined it for me. Don't mind the grind, but hate the lack of matchmaking to attempt harder missions. If people are using destiny lfg why not just add the feature. It's clearly something people want and now have to use other means to get around the issue. Has bungie even commented on this issue?

It is an inconvenience, but I can see why they chose the route they took. I imagine having to do a raid 10 times just so you can be matched with a good enough team to finish. Checkpoints would be turned off you increase the number of people who can be matched together. So you do the whole raid just to get to Oryx and fine out that 4/6 players never beat Oryx. Nightfalls should have matchmaking (they are just heroic strikes with bonus modifiers) Trials would change too much by the amount of people who would back out of matches because they are paired with bad players, thus allowing other teams easy wins. Join a clan, make some friends.

We you can do almost everything with what matchmaking has covered, raids 42 prison and trials is what you can't do, not sure if be to happy with matchmaking in those as I feel it would cause more trouble than it's worth

The one where at the end you throw the grenade and then it makes those two holes open on the right side. This guy spent about five minutes looking around the room because he could not figure out how to get out of there. Me and the other person my fireteam or at the arc streams waiting on this person. This is exactly why in some activities matchmaking would be horrible because so many people have no idea what they're doing and would just drag things down or drag them out for other Guardians.

But I do think there should be dedicated servers, and improved chat or voice communication. Maybe this could be done in an instanced area designed to work as a player housing unit, and work through a terminal at that location. Perhaps we could text from there... or apply to join for activities from that terminal like we're doing at home right now from our cell phones. Hey, I'd like to put my phone down and just be able to enjoy the game. Automatic queue systems ruined World of Warcraft

For those of you who recommend joining a clan. I've joined a minimum of 5 and either the members are never on or simply join to have a little text under their gamer tag. I gave up trying to find an active clan with enough members to play with. LFG is always a gamble. I've had great raids with some groups while others were a shit show.

Dude your in a clan so why are you bitching about MM? You have 13 other "friends" that should be helping you(and you helping them).If they don't time to find better friends/clan.

What i usually do for nightfalls and coe is make a post on destinylfg.net that says no mic, message me on psn for party invite. Then when i get a message i invite them to a party chat and they can join through that. Its basically the same as running a strike through matchmaking, just takes a minute or 2 . No one talks and after the strike they leave the fireteam and party chat. No big deal. Not as easy with raid but its really never a problem for nightfalls and coe, never takes more than a couple minutes. Its a small inconvenience, and i agree that it should be in the game. But its not worth missing out on content over. I don't have a huge problem wasting a couple minutes.
