I don't think you need the Element of Light. Just make all weapons able to drop as Arc, Void, Solar, or Kinetic. Even exotics.... 4 possible types with the still random perks. That opens up ton of different weapons to obtain.
Look, you might have Mida with solar... but mine dropped as arc.... etc...

I do like that idea but I feel like you should better earn the elemental damage and when I mean earn I mean go play the raid and hope you get lucky lol
