New to the terms 'Hard Scoping' and 'Quick Scoping'..
Can you please explain what 'Hard Scoping' and 'Quick Scoping' means? I'm new to these terms...thanks!

Ok, hard scoping is something that people say you do to make you feel bad(even though snipers are supposed to be used like that). Quick scoping is something totally unrealistic that requires "skill". You scope in, shoot, scope out, and pull out mega OP Skrub gun. Class dismissed!

Hard scoping is sitting in one place, while constantly ads. Quick scope is ads very short amount of time, only long enough to aim and shoot

6 RepliesLet's just say, if you are hard scoping (which is what snipers are designed to do) then you are a bad player, have no skill and need to gg. However, if you are running around quick scoping, you are the MVP, have tonnes of skill and wreck everyone. That's the logic of most players. Not the sensible ones though.

People who hard scope are people who have a sniper and constantly aim down at a certain lane or hallway or sight line. Quickscoping is when someone zooms in with a sniper and quickly fires a shot

You hard scope when you look down the sights at a spot for a couple seconds. Quick scoping is a last resort move. Only use it if someone gets the jump on you or appears on your screen when you're not ready.

5 RepliesHard-scoping is how snipers are supposed to be used - at a range with patience and precision (and a lot of aim assist). Quick-scoping is how they're used in most FPS games, in which people think it takes skill to slap two triggers (pull up scope and fire) and get an instant kill and call everyone else scrubs. Usually followed by crying when the sniper sitting in back pops their head when they don't check their corners and rush in.

Back then, skilled players could quickly and easily pull off precision multi-kills by "Quickscoping", or shooting just as they scope in their sniper. (which, in CoD, results in the shrinking of the reticule before you even fully aim down the scope). Kill-cams dictated whether someone was hardscoping (aiming down sights for prolonged time) or not. It only ever mattered in CoD and Battlefield 3/4. It is possible to QS in Destiny, but it takes much more skill (personal opinion). Bullet magnetism and aim assist (reticule movement slowed down) also factor in the chances of pulling off a Quickscope kill.

Quick scoping is when you quickly aim down your sniper scope and almost immediately fire for a close range kill. This video shows what it looks like. Hard scoping is the traditional way of using a sniper rifle.

Hard scoping is when you set up somewhere and look at a spot through the sights, and shoot anyone that goes there. Usually at long range. Quick scoping is when you're mobile, and you center the cursor on your target and essentially pull both triggers at the same time. You're not really looking through the scoop when you fire. It can be done very quickly and accurately, with practice--you get the benefits of using the scope, but the speed of hip firing.

Quick scoping is when a person is usually mobile with their sniping. They have their sniper rifle out and react to people. Usually they fire just as the zoom finishes (or sometimes even before). It sounds strange and unreliable, but people that are good at it are scary. Hard scoping is essentially traditional sniping. Find a good spot with long sightlines, and look down your scope until you see someone to shoot.
