KD doesn't mean anything, There are so many things that wreck KD like Being friendly, Boosting, Doing the sword quest, Using bad weapons, Other people using your account, Being away from your controller, trying to get sparrow kills, and more. Also some people like me aren't sweaty all the time , I'm rarely sweaty, I barely ever use stuff like TLW, Mida, Doctrine. The only way to know a persons skill is to see them play.

If you pub only, yes

4 RepliesAdolf Hitler had a K/D of ~6,000,000:1 and look where it got him. The answer is no.
-
KD won't matter much whenever guardians get the suicide bomb option (not voidwalker aiming at floor with novabomb.)

Combat Rating > K/D

4 RepliesMy instincts say yes. Here's a scenario: You have to bet $500 on a game of Trials. Your choice is to pick at team of people that have a Trials history of 0.4 k/d's or a team of people that have a 1.50+ k/d each. Does it matter?
-
Yes, it does. Objectives and Wins are more important, but A K/D is just a good indicator of lethality. That and a player who dies less is usually producing more orbs and giving the enemy less super which is good in every game mode where points are in order. Zone control is the exception.
-
None of your stats mean crap cause they removed SBMM pub stomping noobs is not impressive it dose not make you good

12 RepliesSPG matters more than K/D imo

5 RepliesIn a game where the object is to kill your enemy and not die, you're moronic if you think KD doesn't relate to skill. Do you think it's just coincidence that the better players have the higher KDs? People who day KD doesn't matter sre lying to themselves because they're not very good.
-
The fact is, going negative is rarely good for the team. I've had that rare game or two of zone control where we were slaughtering the enemy over and over , but due our own poor map placement they kept spawning near capture points and they won the game. But generally if you look at the scorecard, if too many player gone negative? You probably lost the game .
-
It only means something to yourself or if you're trying to join an elite team.
-
It does in reality... That is if you're a killer...
-
Never mattered. Certainly not now that it's all SBMM. (If you believe they changed it you have swallowed the placebo) And especially not anymore that I've gotten so bored from all the same stuff that I'm using unusual weapons.
-
Destiny is too causal for it to matter.
-
No. Watch Mtashed's video.

17 RepliesHere is how it goes for different types of people: 1. Realistic bad players who admit they suck will say k/d matters. 2. Bad players in denial will say k/d doesn't matter. 3. Players who have vastly improved and think they are now good but still have a k/d overall of 0.8 k/d will say k/d doesn't matter. (Side note) noob deaths play a factor, but naturally good FPS players don't start at 0.8 and go to 2.0. Natural skill exists. 4. Players who have vastly improved and have become component PVP players will say - monthly/weekly k/d matters 5. Players who have always been good will say k/d matters 6. Players who are ridiculous will modestly say k/d doesn't matter in regular crucible because they can carry anyone. That's from my own experience
-
agreed

Matters. Messing around in crucible is not an excuse for negative k/d. I mess around a lot and still manage to keep my kd around the same place. But who cares honestly.
-
Honestly I never cared when I played.
