Schlerf wasn't involved in writing Mass Effect 1 - 3, where the writing ranged between good and spectacular right up to brutally ugly end of ME3. We have no idea what to expect from Mass Effect: Andromeda since the Bioware team working on that game is largely new. As for Mr. Schlerf's potential effect on the writing for Destiny, keep in mind that before joining Bioware he was 343's lead writer on Halo 4. So there's that.

Really hope he puts more focus into the Vex. Lots and lots of potential for an amazing storyline especially there.

Been thinking about ways for the game to find a direction, hiring a writer with a competent team should be priority number one. That said, it will take wizardry to put the pieces of the story together at this point, but you never know. I hope they don't dismiss beginning, middle and end at the benefit of irrelevant episodic bits and pieces that end up making no sense at all. The backdrop and characters are all there, episodic or not, it's obvious a campaign is what it is, a campaign. Even with the additional DLC content, people who play PvE and story mode will gladly play it from beginning to end. Forcing random episodic missions only makes sense if the puzzle parts fit together, which in this case, never did. Use Grimoire as support for the story, but keep main content inside the game! I really, really don't want to read collectible cards outside the game to understand it. (ME codex were cool, nice way to get more details if you wished to do so, nice break between missions.) There's nothing like a good script to take a game from great to memorable. Crossing fingers the writer(s) have enough artistic freedom to do what's right, regardless of the publisher's desire of making a few extra dollars by shredding a good story to tweets that end up as completely hollow random events. Even if they desire mass appeal, it's pretty silly to think no one cares about a good story, especially in this instance. (Promises of an epic saga as epic as Lord of The RIngs?) Lack of story was one of the biggest complaints, so the main audience is obviously not completely stupid. Shooting stuff (best weapon mechanics BTW) is awesome but even better with a purpose. So much info is missing on existing main characters we ended up not knowing anything about them at all (Stranger?). Would be great if they could reel them back in and give them purpose. Give purpose to the Guardians! Why in the world are we fighting? Shrouding a story in mystery is only interesting if it serves a purpose and leaves you on the edge of your seat. Left me with no desire to replay any mission other than for the music, there was never an awe moment (other than the music). Bring back the magic. TL;DR Hopeful with news of a new writer. Game needs a story to tie all the elements into something meaningful. [spoiler]On the topic of magic, for the life of me I will never understand Marty O'Donnell's firing. Salvatori / O'Donnell collaboration was magical, it gave every Bungie game an identity, soul, emotion and told so many stories without words. But that is all in the past ;([/spoiler]

All good until He leaves the week before game releases as bungie cut 90% of the content for later DLC turning his hard work and amazing story to shit.

Apparently he was only at Bioware for 5 months or so, which makes you wonder how bad it is over there to work.

I just hope he writes like the dude from mass effect 1 not the garbage from 2 and 3.

I can hardly wait for Andromeda - my most anticipated game. If ME2 makes it to Xbox One, I'd play it all over again, even after three full story runs back in the day.
