Lead writer for Mass Effect: Andromeda Chris Schlerf is joining bungie as a part of their creative team! I can't wait to see what he will do with the lore of the Destiny universe.
If the story has the same punch the taken king had we can only hope for great things. So much talent at bungie I hope they pull off something epic!
What do y'all think of the hire?
Edit: I think this has already been posted in the comments but here's the proof for those asking.

1 ReplyI don't see why thats good, he didn't write for any of the original trilogy and the only other work mentioned was Halo 4 which was mediocre and generic at best.
-
2 RepliesNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUCH TALENT WASTED Y!?!!?!?!?
-
10 RepliesI think that Bungie has already dropped the ball and Destiny 2 will not see the numbers of the original game. The pvp is plagued by cheaters, content has been found lacking, and hopefully the division will be the last nail in the Destiny coffin. I for sure won't be spending any more money on present or future Bungie productions.

Great move!
-
5 RepliesSo the person who wrote the story to the worst Halo and abandoned another big project while halfway through it? Great! Can't wait.
-
Why is anyone excited for this? Mass effect Andromeda isn't out yet, so we can't see if it's actually any good and his only other notable work is Halo 4. So excuse me if I don't piss my pants in anticipation.
-
Very good news :D But...I can't believe all the stupid comments you can get on a thread with such a good news...
-
Poor guy, 🙁
-
The Reapers are coming!
-
Surely he can't be as incompetent as the retards they have now, so "yay"?
-
You know he worked for Bungie before right? He left Bungie 5 months ago to work on Andromeda and now he's coming back.
-
Hes an awful writer
-
4 RepliesYou guys are extremely negative it's mind boggling, I for one am happy to see Bungie making steps in the RIGHT direction EVEN if they're only baby steps Enough said....good day!

Edited by Mar: 2/17/2016 7:15:05 AMugh... don't get me wrong thats great and all, (seriously, i loved the ME games story) but if i have to listen to another group of retarded babies cry about that freaking ending one more time, i might just loose it and throw my mouse / controller out the window and beat someone to death in a rage... again, that is great news, but all this is going to do as far as the community is concerned is preform a act of necromancy of epic proportions and bring back all those whiners bringing up THAT ONE THING to beat the dead horse (that is probably just dust and bones at this point) and then pointing at destiny for another reason to hate it.

3 RepliesI personally don't care about story in video games I just can't get invested in them like I would on TV series/Movie or even podcast. With that being said it was clear from the backlash Bungie got from Destinys release that lots of people do care about story in game. Employing story writer from a game that people seemed to enjoy (apart from ending) can only be a good move by Bungie.

1 ReplyI hope his first order of business is to get rid of grimoire and put the story of the game in the game
-
13 RepliesEdited by HurMedic: 2/16/2016 5:53:40 PMBeen playing since the Alpha. I haven't read a single grimoire card and never will. I paid for a video game not a build-a-book mystery puzzle. Woulda been great to have a story in Destiny but you know... murdering Joe Staten's efforts and all... Here's hoping to 18 months after starting Destiny 2 I have some clue as to WTF is actually going on because I'm still clueless about Destiny's "story". BTW... Why is the moon right by the tower? What's the deal with that?

What story? Oh, you mean that erroneous website full of lore stuff...grimoire?...ehh. Not like they ever cared in the first place....
-
I dunno why this is a big deal, he's only been there at BioWare for five months. I mean, it's one thing to be a part of possibly one of the greatest RPG producing companies of all time, but for a five months? We barely even know if Andromeda's story was even good.
-
2 RepliesDestiny's problem isn't it's story. It's the bullshit RNG, the lack of content, the stagnant Crucible meta, the infusion system, weapon "balances" for PvP that affect PvE as well, etc., etc. Don't hold your breath thinking he'll make Destiny any better. You will probably barely notice his influence because this game is riddled with so many other problems
-
As a huge troll and a guy who loves "im leaving destiny" posts. I sincerely hope this helps Destiny 2 create a strong compelling story. This game could have been something great and I hold high hopes for Destiny 2.
-
42 RepliesYou can have the best writers and programmers on the planet, but it's corporate influence that wins the day. It was directly EA's fault that the ending of Mass Effect 3 was butchered so hard, so I'm not holding my breath for Activision to do any better.
-
1 ReplyBud Bungie has proven for a fact they will bend over and spread them as wide as told when activision barks. So he already has a leash. Sad really I bet he could be a beast left on his own.

Schlerf wasn't involved in writing Mass Effect 1 - 3, where the writing ranged between good and spectacular right up to brutally ugly end of ME3. We have no idea what to expect from Mass Effect: Andromeda since the Bioware team working on that game is largely new. As for Mr. Schlerf's potential effect on the writing for Destiny, keep in mind that before joining Bioware he was 343's lead writer on Halo 4. So there's that.
