So, you're wondering why some guys choose to play as female characters.
Want the answer?
It's because this is a video game, and people do what they want to get the most enjoyment from a game.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is the point of a video game... Right?
"You aren't a girl in real life, so why is your character a girl?"
Call it a hunch, but I don't think people can pull flaming revolvers out of the air and shoot fire in real life, either. But your characters still do.
Destiny is not meant to be an accurate representation of the real world, for what I hope are obvious reasons.
Edit: Woah, this thread blew up. Notifications too OP, Bungie pls nerf!

Creepy weirdos!

1 ReplyI cringe every time I hear a guy on the party chat talking and then his character starts dancing like a girl
-
7 RepliesIt's just different... And the benefit is they have slightly smaller hit boxes.
-
I made a female titan just to annoy someone lol.
-
I only have one female character and it's because I think female hunters look cooler. I also think male titan and warlocks look cooler than their female counterparts. Just my opinion.

Edited by Thane: 12/23/2015 8:45:41 PMI don't know why people feel the need to explain this. Actually its quite simple. Some people focus on role playing aspect of the game so they choose a character they can relate to/familiar (male/female). Others DON'T create their characters as representations of themselves in said universe (the game's). At the end of the day it doesn't really matter, RPG elements are extremely light in Destiny (a character skin) and you can enjoy your game however you want.

Warlocks look best with a female body.

2 RepliesEdited by TrulyDontCare: 12/23/2015 8:08:26 PMI remember when Tomb Raider first came out back in the day. I saw an interview with the devs (no idea where, since it was pre-Internet). They said they made the protagonist a woman because it was a third person game, which was a pretty new concept at the time. They figured since most gamers were male, they'd rather watch a woman run around than some sweaty, muscular dude. I think that's all it is. Most guys aren't tying to pretend they're a woman in a video game, they just prefer a character that's nicer to look at.

6 RepliesThe female bodies look much sleeker and cooler in my opinion with all this armor. Example. Any male Titans with the twilight garrison, trials gauntlets put it on and tell me your Titan doesn't look as over weight as Ben Rothlisberger circa 2011. Now female Titans look very sturdy and fast. Just my $.02

3 RepliesI'd rather not be forced to look at a mans behind for hours in a videogame... My main is still a male though.
-
every game i play if i can i play as a girl lol
-
Because my Titan is my bitch. And because males aren't the only protagonist in Destiny so why not change it up a bit.
-
2 RepliesSounds about right. Also, I like the female voice actors better than the male ones. My male Awoken warlock sounded kind of prissy. I do like my male Exo's voice, though.
-
2 reasons. 1 I think the warlock looks beer as a female my hunter and titan are males and 2 I belive the hit box around a female is smaller then the male more bulky frame I'm prob talking shit but I dont care
-
Hmmm... have yet to see the post: 'Why do females play as male characters.' All for the same reason. It's a video game, one can design their avatar however they want with the tools available to them. It doesn't affect life or game play, so in the end it doesn't matter.

I made my wife
So I can watch her die!
I thought you were gonna say its cuz there dirty pervs, but whatever.

Yep. Bump for accuracy. ----Hard Light 4 Life-------------------------

More random invites to raids and stuff. I played as a female in RS and people where so thirsty I always got free stuff for using this face -> :3 Don't have a female anymore tho :/

1 ReplyTHE REAL ANSWER
females just look cooler
-
Male Awoken Titan because he's in the closet and lifts weights to overcompensate. Male (?) Exo Hunter because Hunters aren't real people. Female Human Warlock because it just seemed fitting...
-
My honest answer? I'm a guy, my titan and hunter are male. My warlock is female. The sole reason is because a warlock is a male term and to be correct she should be called a witch. So, just to be a contradiction. No other reason here.

Coz them sick people

My friend used the excuse, "for the smaller hitbox"

Titans and warlocks look better as males and hunters look better as females
