I wanted to know if its a computer RNG that controls it or if one of the devs hand chooses, or maybe they put the names of each exotic in a hat and draw one out at random.
Either way, for every week since TTK has dropped, I started guessing what Xur was going to sell Thursday night. I haven't been wrong. Usually it's not entirely specific, with so many armor pieces I could never get each armor piece right. Usually it will be something like this (my exact prediction yesterday night)
"Yeah he's going to have a pretty good Warlock exotic for sure. He won't have a weapon though, he'll have armor engrams, and it's going to be for gauntlets."
And it just so happens to be right (unless you dint consider obsidian mind good but hey that's your opinion)
Other than that, I've predicted a few exotics by name i.e. Zhalo Supercell, Gravitron Forfeit, and Monte Carlo.
Do I just happen to know the inside of a Bungie devs mind as to what he a going to choose? Am I able to predict a computer program?
How is it chosen?
Edit: So what I've seen is that people don't think its entirely RNG which I can believe.
Edit: My guesses are kinda vague, sure, but like I said I can't get every exotic armor right each time. I'll usually get weapons right and engram type right, and I can get 2/3 of the armor pieces right a quarter of the time times.
Edit: My predictions for next week as of Nov. 14 are Suros Regime or Monte Carlo, and at least 1 quick revive exotic (Im leaning towards Light Beyond Nemesis)

2 RepliesDeej made an offer with the Nine long ago. It was he who freed XUR. he struck a deal. Every day, guardians would arrive on Earth, Mars, Venus, the Moon, and the tower feeling happy. Deej needed it to stop The deal said and I quote "Deej: I shall free thou, on one condition. XUR: "Anything.." Deej: "You shall be hated if you accept" XUR: "Anything but the Darkness" Deej: "Very well. You shall arrive at the tower, once a week, to bring misery unto the guardians. They need to remember why we fight. We fight, for vengeance." XUR: "But.. Why?" Deej: "Because. The light is the most powerful substance known, besides the darkness. But the one thing it cannot do, is cause hatred . That will be your job" XUR: "But the guardians, they saved me" Deej: "Fine, then I guess the Darkness will have at you." XUR: "No wait! I accept" Deej: "I knew you would" *Deej walks away, after unchaining XUR from the wall.* XUR had a new life. A new purpose. A new meaning. From this day forth, he would be hated forever.. Alternate ending
*Deej zips his pants up* Deej: "Good. At least those tentacles were put to some use"
He goes "what crap doesn't anyone want? Let's sell that"

Activision
-
Purley by observations he seems to work out what everyone already has and then brings that!

1 ReplyDoes anyone know if there is any other Warlock gauntlets on the loot table besides Impossible Machines?
-
1 ReplyI wish theyd at least release a timeline of when they're gonna release the rest of the exotic gear. Im dying for a year 2 armormentarium.
-
1 ReplyIt's random and it was confirmed random by MegamanExe (Google him). Once Bungie figured out MegaMan was able to determine what Xur was going to bring weeks in advanced, they started manually altering what he brought. As of right now, Xur is RNG.

Nice click b8 m8 I r8 888/8

Xur actually goes through a rotation based on forum replies. One week he sells a weapon and earn/xurn posts. Next week he sells and posts are Xur is shit. See how it works?
-
Hes always been RNG

Ean-y mean-y mine-y moe Leave the gally by the doe If they nerf it let it go Ean-y mean-y mine-y moe
-
I've never believed xur was RNG. Even before it became glaringly obvious he wasn't.
-
It doesn't matter. He brings what he brings.

1 ReplyXûr inventory is set up by Bungie.
-
Xurs inventory has always been controlled by Bungie. Don't trust that they've said otherwise.
-
Xur will always bring 1 armor for each class, 1 Legacy engram (year 1 exotics only), and will alternate between a year 2 engram and a weapon. If you're asking what determines what specific items he brings, it's RNG.
-
He checks to see which new games are coming out that week.
-
Bungie claims it's all rng based and out of their control.
-
Sadly it's a random script. It pulls from a selection of items and each week a new selection is out in place. The only thing worthwhile due has is the three of coins .
-
He sees what everyone wants on the forums, then brings exactly what they didn't want
-
Bungie says rng. The rest of us believe bungie is full of dog shit. Remember that time Xur "forgot" to sell a weapon? They pulled Gally from his inventory
