In the original story the black garden was in the traveler, so along the lines of the original story this is probably accurate, now though who the -blam!- knows what bungie did to the story.

In the original story, the traveler was evil. That's proven wrong now, the black garden was created by quria after stealing a worm from oryx to study. The traveler is good.
