Greetings! I normally post sassy material, but today there's -blam!- in my Cheerios so I'm making a "what we seriously need" post of sorts.
Cozmo, DeeJ, this isn't a gratification/I helped a noob post but let's get an actual answer that manages the community's general concern.
Rewards: Nobody likes opening a box with holes in it on Christmas to find a dead cat they were going to name sprinkles.
-RNG is a -blam!-, whatever, there's no reason a drop from Oryx can roll the same light as a blue.
---Additionally, regarding the raid, mouldering shards. It's not me, it's not a few people that like to complain, it's a consensus. You are literally replacing our drop with 10% of what we need for another drop at the end that can end up dropping ANOTHER 10% OF WHAT YOU NEED to do that again.
Mouldering shards should not drop from bosses. They would be cool if they granted huge rep chunks with Eris, or X amount would raise the light on a weapon, but replacing a drop with 1/10 of what you need for a later drop is ridiculous.
-"Smarter drops"- Please allow me to fill my coffee cup with a glass of nope and wipe the bull-blam!- off of my bagel, because this is nearly worse than VoG drops.
---------Example- I'm missing the raid helmet and gloves. I'm wearing a 309 chest piece through the raid. It drops me a 309 chest piece from GoGo Ogre and a 300 chest piece from Oryx.
It should read what we're wearing, and drop something different or at least something with a higher light. Always.
-Nightfall: I'm all for long, hard missions. I enjoy singing the Dragon Ball Z theme with my friends upon completion (as is tradition). What I don't enjoy, is seeing a three of coins pop up in the rewards screen. You are literally replacing our exotic drop chance with a consumable that gives us a smaller exotic drop chance after killing another ultra if we remember to use it. Whoever added that into the NF drops, I'll have what he was having, because it's been one hell of a Monday.
-Faction Rep: There are few things out there slower than a 98' Mazda with no wheels, but ranking up a faction is one of them. If you've heard of a miss/miss, separating faction gains, removing the huge rep gains from the nightfall and weekly, and removing the boost, was a triplemiss. I can make turtle jerky faster than rank up a new faction.
-Light system: Luke Smith said something along the lines of:
We were in this weird place where what you wore dictated how well you would perform.
WELL, short of sacrificing ten thrall and 40 silver to the gods of RNG, I will forever be stuck wearing a bright red raid cape that is adamant about staying red. Unless I want to infuse 80% of it to something else and then perform the ritual again for another 310 cloak.
This has gotten long enough....
-repeat exotics
-releveling exotics....
-addressing Black Spindle but not this stuff...
-etc...
EDIT: as per the weekly update, motes of light, strange coins, and weapon parts drop in reduced amounts. (Aside from gaining exp after level 40 and getting three motes)
EDIT: Luke Smith announces nightfall rewards will be better (added pic) and on a neogaf post today said the raid boost consumables will not cost silver. I believe him on that. Because they will likely cost gold.

5 RepliesColorful and poignant. My friends and I don't even care for the Nightfall anymore. There is no incentive. Last run we got strange coins or 3oc. I have seen 1 exotic drop in the last month. No rep, no rewards, no buff. In fact, everyone is pretty much bored of the grind already and we're all day 1 players used to this architecture. There is so little reward for the effort put forward. This whole game has been nerfed into oblivion. The raid continually drops low level gear, if it drops any at all, and I usually get the same thing I already have with a lower light level and the same perks. Still no helmet. Also, for some reason, my 3oc exotic engrams only decode to Helmets and Gauntlets. The last 10+ have all been the same. No weapons, ever. I don't need a 5th set of Immolation Fists with the exact same roll. Let's not forget that quite a few of the exotics are Timegated and not even available. You can't earn them, discover them, puzzle over them; you will only get them when Bungie decides, and the will underwhelm you (I'm looking at you SS). I like the Taken King and some of the steps taken (no pun intended), however, this game just doesn't bring the satisfaction it used to and it just doesn't have the edge it once had. We only have Vanilla Destiny and the Nerfed King now. On the bright side, Bungie has been working hard to bring new ways for you to "throw money at the screen" instead of listening to us. I recommend the new weeping emote.

1 ReplyEdited by Capn Charge: 10/20/2015 4:17:31 AMInfusion percentage should be around 90%. It is currently to low to encourage users to infuse their 310 raid drops into 280s. It would only come out as probably a 300 or 298. Infusing an exotic should not cost an exotic shard every time

Bungie wants 2 things from you. Your money and your time. They do what ever they can, as often as they can to take as much as they can. All the mistakes they said they learned from Y1, that was a lie. They made us regrind everything from scratch. They say they respect and value our time we put into our characters, lie. They say the world spins on its axis, but we know that not true. $$$$ makes the world go round. Bungie has been patting us on the back since day one about how they value us, but really all they were doing is looking for a soft spot to stick the next knife.

Edited by xTOX1CxZOMB1Ex: 10/20/2015 4:05:20 AMThis post is the definition of Destiny going down the drain. I will never regret my initial purchase, never regret the puchase of TBD, or HoW, hell, I didn't even regret my purchase of TTK until I got to this same bullcrap. When TTK dropped, I played for 35 hours straight and was so hyped when I looked on my friends list and every lobby I went into and saw myself at 290 and nobody else over 240(few exceptions), and then we get to the raid and the rest of the endgame content. RNG has screwed me in the ***hole so much, all of my effort and work that I've put in, all of the sleep that I've lost thinking it would pay off, has resulted in garbage. After 7 successful raid runs from start to finish and 3 partial runs, I have received the majority of the weapons(none of which being 310), and all of the standard armor excluding the helmet(none of which being 310), I have yet to recieve a cloak, and I have only gotten a single ghost shell, which dropped at 300 flat. Thanks for laughs, the joy, the awesome moments, but this game has completely lost my interest in how much it has screwed me. I will no longer be playing within the next few weeks. I will play a game with a much more rewarding and good feeling to it.

The only good thing i got from the new TTK nightfall was a 290 monta carlo and later i got a 3oC primary exotic drop and it turned into a 310 monta carlo....still not sure it if should toss the 290 one or infuse the 310 on

GOOD I FEEL I'M LOOSING EACH NIGHTFALL :(

You're a champ. Hopefully your future Cheerios remain un-blam!-ed.

1 ReplyGood read. Coz and Deej will never ever comment or reply, but they might read. +5 internets and +1 bump.
-
5 RepliesThey are walking a dangerous path. If they continue to go they way they are, only pre teens will play this game as it becomes the laughing stock of the gaming world.
-
1 ReplySpot on...the grind to keep people coming back is too transparent. Bungie keep 'tweaking' the system to reward you less for playing longer. At what point do we say "Go -blam!- yourselves?'
-
just finished the raid got the exact same thing on my titan and hunter . boots I have 4 and gauntlets I have 4 as well . 4 fusion rifles 4 shotguns 3 snipers . 2 ghosts .
-
Lmao! Gold or platinum? Hmmm
-
Bump for Cozmo
-
This is the greatest post I've seen in a while.

2 RepliesBump I'm your biggest fan ponethepoon!!!

Agreed, TTK has increased the required grinding dramatically. It's hard to take anything Bungievision says/does seriously when they repeatedly make the same mistakes over and over and over and over again. Actions speak louder than words and so far Bungievisions action show they don't give a fook about the loyal player.

Edited by Jes: 10/14/2015 9:04:10 PMI agree with you on the shards dropping from bosses thing 100%. They should be a chest only reward since you really don't need them, it's bad enough that you have to pray to rng that you get a piece of gear that's of a random level without having to worry about walking away from all four bosses with absolutely nothing. Instead of bosses dropping 1-2 shards move them to the chests that way you still get them but in expected place(it's really sad after three raids and a years worth of time people think your gonna get weapons/armor from chests). At least this way your guaranteed to get a weapon or armor piece from bosses and the only thing to worry about is if it'll help in some way. Oryx should continue to take 20 shards and give you something in return, just not more shards. My point is they are completely useless outside of that, in the VoG and CE you needed the shards to upgrade gear. You don't need moldering shards except for a "chance" at something extra at the end. And speaking of something extra at the end, I feel the more you have(20, 40, 60, etc.) the more loot drops you should get. I've seen guys with 80+, why not reward them justly. I only ever keep about 20-30 on me at any given time that way when they're taken I have just enough to close the gap by the next raid. I'm just asking to make it worthwhile to have a bunch.

Edited by bishoplv426: 10/14/2015 7:29:16 PMWhy do faction cloaks, bonds, and marks increase crucible rep? Shouldn't they increase rep of their respective factions?

I don't disagree with you :)
-
I ran oryx last night. I spent 20 moldering shards and got 2 moldering shards in return. Honest to god, who the -blam!- thinks of the logic in this at bugnie, and how does it even leave the drawing board let alone through full production and delivery to the consumer? absolutly incredible.
-
Bump. Agree on all points.
