I was going to continue playing without TTK. But since a purchase is required to play the original game content then I'm out. (Nightfalls and such) all my gear is rendered useless for PVE... I tried, but this time my brother will need to find a new game to coop with me.

I wouldn't quit just yet. The statements made up to this point have been vague and while there is a very good chance that people are reading into them correctly, there's also a chance that they're wrong. Initially, the way I read it was to say that the XP level cap was being bumped from 20 to 34 when the patch is released on the 8th and then bumped again to 40 when TTK drops. Both ways make sense, it would be nice to receive some clarification on this as well as if the nightfall will be open to non DLC owners.

Bumping because when all is said and done ... a simple clarification from Bungie could have averted at least a day's worth of forum fury.

True, I'm hoping that Cozmo will come in and reply to one of the threads around this because I really want to know as well. The longer they wait, the more concerned I am that it's going to cap all non DLC owners at 34. Cozmo is normally fairly good about clarifying on here to an extent.

This is what troubles me ... all too often they answer only the questions they want to (because it benefits them), yet ignore the ones that they know answering openly with make a bad situation even worse.

Did you miss the memo that Destiny is currently a 10-year project? Paid DLCs are part of that plan to stay with current content. You didn't think you would get 10 years worth of content for $60 did you?

It would appear that post I was replying to is gone now. Convenient, but the post I was replying to had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the OPs post. If you can't understand my frustration at the comments made on here as fact etc., then I don't know to explain it further.

Yes but most of those games are not a 20 year project. And DLCs for those very games you play are mostly not free either.

Unlike other games, as Destiny evolves, purchases are required to even play the basics of things. Such as the nightfalls, iron banner, gear to even compete in regular PVP. I have a cell phone game (Korean) called cookie run. Though there are in app purchases available, non are required. I have played this game for a couple years now. If the game had and update and requires a purchase to progress then I'll stop playing like (kritika) <another phone game.

I get people leaving based on this but did you expect to play for ten years with no further investment in the game? It costs money to produce the weapons gear etc never mind the activities. At some point they need reinvestment.

I expected to pay for Destiny 2 and 3. I expected to pay for[u][b]ADDITIVE[/b][/u] DLC. I did not expect to have to periodically pay what is effectively a subscription fee or have base content excluded.

Base content isn't excluded but some endgame activities are. This is the price we pay for continual updates, patches and support. It is t 1984 and we are not playing a cartridge game on the NES

I have a couple games that are still been updated, has in app purchases, and still doesn't require a dime to enjoy and participate in weekly score battles with friends. Been playing one for a couple years now. I'm over Destiny, I'm stationed overseas and I only came back to Destiny because my little brother in the states. I know better than to keep paying in order to play original content. I'm over it. I appreciate everyone wanting others to hang in there. I just hope Bungie gets their crap right and stop fooling players by making a beta and calling it a full release.

Thats cause they use those expensive in app purchases to pay for you too. Im sprry I dont want to pay $80 for ttk so you can play for free.

You are obviously a closed minded ass kisser. Sorry for the personal insults but people like you don't pay attention. Like I said before, I PAID for destiny. I should be entitled to the vanilla game as well as two other DLC's that I PAID for. Besides the story line, the past DLC's are faded out. If you have been tracking Bungie, unless u buy their new DLC, original game purchases are rendered mute. So my only option is just PVP. But even then I can't participate in Iron Banner and won't have the advantages of other players. You can pay whatever you mindlessly want to pay. I will not support this company anymore. Many others who opened their eyes are doing the same. You don't have too.. You do you, I don't care. I moved on. I'm just here for the ride.

You do know expansions in pc gaming have done this for a decade? Fyi you still get a strike playlist that gives old rewards you still get poe, ce, vog, crucible, you still have all the weapons. The only thing changing are endgame activities cause the endgame changed. It is called an evolving game. You actually get a ton of stuff for free like new quests, gunsmith bounties, new bounties for crucible, vanguard, eris morn, and petra.

No purpose for strikes. It's all a dead end. Can't do nightfalls, no more weeklies. Weapons were phased out like any regular beta change. Don't worry about me man. Save yourself. *crawls on ground and reaches out* go... Kill Oryx. Leave.... Me *coughs* I..... I..... *gasps*..... *farts*.... *gets up*.... *knocks dust off pants* I feel better already ;) But for real, I moved on. I'll be deleting this app after I see what happens in the new Destiny world. I already got my 17th platinum trophy. Starting other games.

Bungie had too many fails. Like any true beta, everything will get wiped. I have other games that I can hop on and play. Old games. But Bungie will lock out people if they don't have the DLC. I just can't support a company that does that. I hope it doesn't continue to Destiny 2. But I'm over it. Just waiting to see what happens before I decide to pull the plug.
