When I started on Destiny, I hooked it to my 52" plasma and it was beautiful. I continued to play on this tv through all of the stories and raids, etc.
When I started playing PvP I was getting crushed. I got to know the maps and feel of Destiny crucible, but would still get my ass kicked.
Switched to a 24" computer monitor a month or so ago and it made a world of difference. Not saying I'm that good at crucible, but since the switch I've made multiple flawless trials runs and my KD is actually starting to move upwards. Even had to increase my sensitivity to 6-7 on the monitor.
Is there something to this? What do the good PvP'rs play on?
EDIT: Sounds like most agree that the smaller monitor is helpful. If playing on a big screen, you need to enable game mode to make sure the TV isn't trying to output at a higher refresh rate than the game is capable.
PS. I really appreciate all the well thought out posts and great info from all posters. This has been a troll free refuge filled with great people and great info. Keep it up everyone.

I play on a 42 inch tv. Not too big, but I feel most comfortable on this. And my k/d is pretty good I'd say.
-
Yep all of my characters are 1.5 and up
-
i play on 200 hz 40" led I've always played on big screens still an average on pvp
-
I have a 60 inch and a 40 inch.I like the 40 inch better, you focus on the hole screen and there is less room for sun, light etcetera to hit the screen and blind you.

Edited by Pluto: 9/3/2015 3:58:32 AMI think this is the case because you have less periferal( however the heck you spell it) vision than some people. That also means you tend to see things deeper. A smaller screen will help you to use the center of your vision more than your periferals. This is what I think, I don't have an MD so don't rely on this. Try sitting close to your tv then far away though. Good luck in the crucible.

I play on a 50" and I do decent for most of my matches.

2 RepliesI unno I play on a 70" sharp. Why do people. Buy Walmart vizios? That's sad.

-
I use a 50" panasonic tv and I do alright. Switching to a gaming monitor soon though 👍
-
Using a 42 inch. I'm doing fine.

I have only played on a 55 inch tv. Idk, check my kd. It's ok. I've thought about getting a monitor to play on only because I used to only play PC. New egg had some killer deals on refurbished monitors a few days ago.
-
I'm pretty good at pvp and I use a 50 something inch tv
-
I feel your pain. I started playing cod back in the day on pc monitors, and ever since then i can't play multiplayer on big screens.
-
I use a large TV, never used a monitor but my skill stayed the same from when my TV was a lot smaller
-
2.0 and I play on a 42 in TV
-
I'm bad at pvp eitherway
-
1 ReplyYep. I am.
-
1 ReplyI play on a 50" I just put it on game mode
-
Yes there's something to it. Monitors responsiveness will help. Smaller screen will help you react faster. But I assure you, unless you only run blink shotgun, plz turn your sensitivity back down.
-
Yeah huge difference, a good monitor has a lower lag time. I have a 1 ms, it is what all the pros use. If u do get a monitor get a 1 or 2 ms.
-
Don't look at my stats on ps4 but my trials kd on Xbox is 1.8 and I play on a 55".
-
I have A 1.7 kd and I play on as 46 inch tv. I guess having as really high refresh rate helps. Also, I don't sit up right next to it

Depends on the television and age of the televison. You preferably want a high quality televison with a game mode. Believe Samsung makes some of the better smart televisions that have game modes.
