Getting bored with the old gear. Ready to get new gear. Honestly don't care that much over dismantling old weapons to get new ones. This game is meant to be a grind. What's the point of getting a gun if it is just handed to me? CoD was a grind to level up to use certain guns with their mods/sights and then you'd start over to increase your prestige just to grind again. Then they'd introduce a new game with new features and new guns and maybe bring a few old ones back but mostly you'll want to you use something new, but for the most part the games are exactly the same thing every year. Not enough info to determine what the new gear in Destiny will be like in TTK.

Elemental primaries are hard to come by. It's stupid to throw those away. Bungie wants no competition with their new gear. I want as many choices as possible. If the new gear is so good, players will migrate to it naturally. No reason to ditch old gear, ever.
-
But there will be new elemental primaries lol. I'll hold on to mine for awhile but most likely they're getting dismantled. I might keep some one or two old favorites like my vanquisher for crucible.
-
Dude, I would never tell you that you have to use old gear. If you're ready for new stuff than go for it. People are starting to lose their shit over the grind that this game has become. I think the desire to grind for all new gear has reached its tipping point for a lot of players. We just want to be able to use whatever we like, incorporating new with old. I don't know why this is a problem for some people.
-
I don't either lol. When they announced the xbox one, I wasn't like "oh no my 360 is being left behind." More like "HELL YES I CAN'T WAIT!!!" I had some good times with my old gear but I'm ready for new gear.
-
I support you ditching old gear. I support players doing what they want from year to year. I just wish there was more support for players who want to keep their old gear relevant.
-
There's just not enough information to make a conclusion about anything yet. If the new gear is horrendous compared to the old gear then I'd support old weapons. Right now I am hoping there will be some great gear in TTK.
-
You're absolutely right, there's not enough information about the new gear to know how it will compare. I just want more options instead of less. Even if the new gear makes the vast majority of players forget about the old gear, that doesn't negate the fact that the player base was, once again, bullied into the new content. Which is my biggest issue.
-
I wouldn't say bullied necessarily but I understand your frustration. Just need some patience to see what really happens when TTK comes out.
-
"Bullied" may not be that unreasonable. Maybe more of a "passively mocked." Bungie does everything they can to get players into new content short of locking out ALL old content. They make asinine comments about how we play this game. A lot of Deej's comments come off as either arrogant, flippant, or ignorant. We were told emotes were so good we'd throw money at the screen. They said using the same weapons for 10 years is boring. They're quick to patch cheeses but not fix glitches. The things they nerf have ripple effects that they rarely see coming. Those are all things that turn people off because it's people with decision making power being out of touch with the people the rule changes will actually affect. You're a more patient man than I. I give you credit for that.

Lol I enjoy games that take longer than a week. That's why I liked CoD because you had to level up to use certain guns. After a while though it got stale and repetitive. Destiny is changing constantly which I like.

Changing is good. I just don't enjoy leaving behind endgame gear that many people, not including myself, had to grind and grind and grind to obtain. I just want options. The more, the merrier.
