In lieu of going on a long tangent on how I'm against it, let me instead, provide some evidence for my case. Optional MM will not work, at least the current type of MM wouldn't. In any game, random players will almost never beat a pre-formed team, due to the lack of coordination and communication that's prominent in random matchmade teams. Raids and POE take a large amount of teamwork and coordination. Often times, players need to work together in order to formulate a strategy to down a certain boss or beat a level. In random games where voice chat is very seldomly used and low levels are in great abundance, you'd most likely never beat 35 POE or even 33 Crota. Player skill level, teamwork and everything else needed to beat endgame content would be severely lacking across the board It's not just one noob we're talking about here, it's a full team of them being matchmade into the same game, all of whom will inevitably leave in anger or frustration. So even then, people say, "hey man, it's OPTIONAL!" Well let me ask you this: why would Bungie invest into MM that wouldn't work in the first place? You'd be very naive if you thought they would. Just try to understand my point of view.
