...will be located in a parking lot, across the street from the convention center where this year's E3 will be held.

I found a pic showing the box the Ouya will be shipped in. What do you think?

1 ReplyYou know what would be interesting.. A Google Console made and developed by Google. Wonder if they could destroy the Triple Elite in the Console industry? PC isn't a console.. but instead is in its own industry.. the industry of awesome!

Edited by Bistromathics: 5/21/2013 2:53:19 PMMakes sense to me. OUYA can't really compete in the traditional gaming space, so rather than sit inside the E3 convention center and be buried under Xbox/PS4/Whatever coverage, they're reserving a separate space. It's not as sexy as a booth inside the building, but it's best if they can avoid comparisons to traditional consoles. As a bonus, they can claim they're being open to the public or whatever.

1 ReplyI sense another Philips CD-i. Terrible console with terrible games. Except the Ouya could be even worse.
-
LOL. Nothing says failure more than having your console being shown off in a parking lot away from the building. I'm wondering how long this will last compared to the other failed consoles.
-
I thought you were joking... then I read the article. xD

1 ReplyI don't hate the people who make the OUYA, but I think the evangelists for the system were particularly obnoxious right out of the gate. The whole "this will be the winner of the next console generation" thing was incredibly irksome.

2 RepliesEdited by McRibbitt: 5/20/2013 7:52:04 PMLolOUYA My phone (HTC DNA) is more powerful than OUYA, but it also cost $100 more (with contract). Either way, I'll pass on OUYA.

1 ReplyThis accurately describes what Id do if I got an Ouya

Oh boy! The Flop! I can't wait for more news about this wonderful flop! Who else is looking forward to The Flop!?

Breaking news: shitty indie console has to present in the parking lot
And nobody was surprised.

Haha I love the developers even more now.

lolouya

Hey, the ouya itself isn't a bad idea... The problem is the lack of AAA dev support that it needs to launch sky high
-
3 RepliesLets see. The whole place is bought out by MS, Sony and Nintendo, all trying to one up each other in a money war. How do you think Ouya can compete with that? They want to show that they are different, and really get gamers and show a human face. OP, go away. You're an arrogant, delirious moron.

Well, they want the public to see it. Public can not go into the convention. So might as well allow people to try it out by doing it outside.

2 RepliesThis goes into the gaming forum idiot.

3 RepliesThat's depressing. I wasn't planning on buying the first generation, but I did hope it wold succeed.
-
12 RepliesWhy "haha"? They are putting it accross the street because, if you didn't know, E3 only allows access from Journalists and people presenting their video games for the trade show. Putting Ouya inside the convention center would only restrict the amount of people who get to try it.
-
2 RepliesThis is one of the best possible moves by the people behind the OUYA, as they say themselves: “100 percent open to the public -- no credentials required! Invite friends, family -- hell, invite anyone 'cuz they're all welcome!” They're aiming to make a console which is hugely accessible. What better way to do that than by opening their booth to the public, without requiring credentials? They'll be a huge hit, I guarantee it.

1 ReplyAll I can think of is the next Xbox being revealed tomorrow.
