I’m sure you’ll get a lot of negative feedback on this. But I agree with you. It’s just not the same nor as fun now.
I can’t even finish the Encore solo, much less expert. Some people will laugh and scoff at that, but so what.
It shouldn’t be about builds, it should be about shooting aliens in the head with a little space magic built in….not the other way around like it is.

If you can't even do encore solo then why in the 9 hells would you choose a difficulty that is way above that of encore? Sounds to me like a self inflicted wound. Legend version is for people that are either a bit more skilled or want the challenge to skip "most of the grind".

This is why there are options of difficulty regular is exactly what you are asking for no need to have a build just go in and shoot stuff legendary is for people that want a challenge and want to bring in a build that helps them maximize their abilities and skill Why ask for the more difficult version to be changed when you already have the option a less difficult one

Yes there are options. But then they go and put catalyst and what not in the more difficult versions with no other way to get things. I get it. I understand why. But still….
