Why can't we just go back to the days of forsaken when this game was actually fun, now we just have this hell hole where you can't swap off a sniper to a shotgun without loosing all your abilities. Bungie really has taken all the fun out of this game.

3 RepliesI think 30th anniversary was better than forsaken.

2 RepliesRecord low player base in pvp, that's why. And oh yeah, they fired the pvp fireteam that managed it.

Not having separate sandboxes probably makes things infinitely more difficult to maintain and keep player bases happy. PvE wants new things to stand out and be powerful and more enticing than what is already in the game. PvP wants balance so new things have to be lateral choices or worse than what already exists in the game. Right now, the addition of prismatic is not in favor of what PvP wants so that’s driving people away. (That’s not the only reason, but one common in the forums since TFS release.). Bungie can tune things separately but I don’t know to what extent in the current game design.

Edited by High Charity: 8/18/2024 4:00:09 PMCombination of things. Adding a ban to the quickplay quitter penalties, plus constantly changing the ammo system (which heavily pushes only ever using shotguns for your special), and being slow to make balance changes (as much as yall complain about Pris Hunter, remember how long Arc Titan was allowed to exist. People just swapped off it for how good Banner was, it didn't exactly catch game-breaking nerfs)

It gets worse and worse because it's run by a bunch of white collar CEO's who only care about money and we keep paying. The only way they'll change is if they see the money go down. But most likely they'll just come out with a new game which they should have done a long time ago. Instead of starting everyone fresh at square one, they keep it going and buff and nerf everything making it feel new or different.

People complained about pvp during forsaken also. Along with every other point of this game. And that's no exaggeration.

11 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Truth: 8/16/2024 6:29:20 AM
Why can't we just go back to the days of forsaken when this game was actually fun
If bloom, one eyed mask at its strongest, lunas howl and not forgotten getting free 3 taps on a 180, launch nova warp, launch blade barrage, dust rock blues, mindbenders ambition, og recluse, og mountaintop, and any other number of things that turned the crucible into a wasteland are your idea of "fun", then I hope you find a game that lets you live out that fantasy. I also hope that game is somewhere FAR AWAY from destiny. Too easy for people to say the grass was greener.

1 ReplyBecuase they consistently try to make it for people who suck at it.

I saw some pretty damning numbers earlier today that PvP has shed 60% of its players since the launch of TFS. I don’t understand Bungie just sitting their watching it happen. PvE has shed some players but it’s nothing compared to PvP.
-
It’s actually shocking how every change they make puts the game in a worse spot. Even shooting in the dark you will eventually hit the target… unless you’re bungie. I have played this game through every low but man is this -blam!- stale. Unfortunately there’s not really a good replacement
-
They took the meaningful gunfights out of the game by allowing the Hunter to crutch smoke, swarm and clones. I don’t understand what you’re supposed to do against that crap especially against cracked players. I entered a solo match and one of my teammates quit and my remaining teammate finally wakes up in the last round and together we kill two of the enemy but he dies. I’m trying to kill the last player and I had him dead to rights but he ends up stopping me from fighting him by throwing a smoke right on me then a swarm grenades at the door while he’s in there picking his team up. I wouldn’t complain about using abilities like this as I did finish his teammate with a throwing knife but my complaint is that every mother-loving round we played, there were smoke and swarm grenades every where. Why do they get to have them so frequently? I sometimes use young ahamkara with 100 discipline and mods that refund grenade energy—even with a kill I’m lucky to have that tripmine every other round but every round, without fail, I’m spammed smoke and swarm grenades. When I lost that 2v3 and the team of prismatic spamming exotic shotgun and forerunner hunters won and began bagging and emoting I wanted to ram my fist through my monitor and throw my whole PlayStation away. It’s sickening Bungie. My kd is absolutely destroyed and I think I’m done with the game now.

Did you swap from exotic to non exotic weapon or non exotic to exotic weapon, if so, that'll be why your abilities left, due to not swap which if you switch to or from an exotic weapon makes you lose all ability regen

Because there always has to be an active on going hunter meta.
Why does pvp just keep getting worse and worse?
It's because of all of the talent this washed-up company used to have left years ago, and then they had the bright idea to can what they had left as a team working on PvP leaving the game in the hands of people that literally do not what they are doing that don't play the game. When is Sony going to remove them from this game?

Because there always has to be an active hunter meta

Pvp has definitely declined over the years and it's only getting worse.
-
Because the whole game is getting worse and worse

Yes the game isn’t in its prime but I prefer this to last year after light fall came out. I will say by the time the next episode starts Bungie will have this game in a really good place with a story we can completely get behind. Let’s not rush the team to give awful updates.

15 RepliesThe only real change needed, and ever needed is Skill Based match making. It is right there in the name, match people based on comparable skill and a majority of matches will be balanced, competitive, and mostly fun.

Because you ain't paying enough money

Edited by NotCreative123: 8/16/2024 3:55:16 PMBecause swapping Special weapons mid round or mid game gives a pretty sizable advantage to the player who swapped (unknown variable / subverting expectations). For example, if I know you have a shotgun, so I jump out of your range, and you really have a fusion, I die. If I know you have a fusion or sniper, so I intentionally get in your face, and you really have a shotgun, I die. If I know you have a shotgun and I intentionally slide a snipe lane and you really have a sniper, I could die. I don't think Bungie put those restrictions on modes other than Trials or Comp, but I could be wrong.

2 RepliesPvP was in a fine place, then Prismatic was designed to be game breaking. We need some weapon tuning and subclass adjustment. Stop with the doom and gloom and offer insights/ solutions. Be able to debate what you think are necessary changes.

1 ReplyI'd imagine most of the staff will be working on Marathon. Destiny, for the time being, is not Bungies' main focus.

Edited by TwinStripe9070: 8/16/2024 9:55:20 AM
Why does pvp just keep getting worse and worse?
Because it's always been terrible, you just didn't notice until now. If you take a piece of excrement, cover it in gold leaf and embed diamonds in it, it's still excrement, only more expensive...

PvP has always been terrible, I haven't touched it at all since Light fall except where the game forces you in. Gambit, Trials and Crucible can go in the bin.
