Rhulk is the only new enemy race to come in the game since The Taken King, and no the Scorn don’t count idgaf they’re literally just Eliksni Zombies get real. Rhulk is the last lubraen character and we killed him (or put him in a healing coma) now we’re in year 9 out of 10 of the dark and light saga, and we are STILL fighting the same 5 races we’ve been fighting since Destiny 1
Sure they made new fighting units like flamethrower cabal, Wyvern Vex, Fallen Brigs, etc. but reading the lore and seeing the story of Lightfall unfold, I am highly convinced we will not be getting a new enemy race to fight any type soon, at least we won’t get an actual enemy race. There is a possibility we will get another taken/scorn enemy race in The Final Shape, but like a new alien civilization from a distant galaxy? I highly doubt it.
You may be wondering: what about those thousands of Pyramid ships that are…I guess just floating around Earth? I say that because we never get any answers or explanations on what happened after the final cutscene in the story. The Witness went inside the Traveler and a couple ships followed it. Now Ig the rest of the Pyramids have Calus’s cabal forces? I mean we literally go into the mother pyramid ship, the one that belongs to the Witness, and we got more fking cabal! Literally zero evidence of any other alien race, just more cabal for some reason and the Tormentors turned out to be just a miniature reskin of Nezerac!
With all that being said, I highly highly doubt we’ll be getting any new alien race in TFS.
Tl;dr we keep getting the same alien races to fight over the last 9 years. Going inside the main pyramid ship only gave us more cabal and a larger Tormentor as a boss, with that being said the chance of getting a new race in TFS is almost 0%
