Shin Malphur was revealed to have been resurrected by a ghost when he was a baby and then had that ghost die, so that when he got Jaren Wards ghost he was able to keep all of his memories.
So now that it is confirmed that guardians can get new ghosts to wield the light again, and that we have a bunch of ghosts that regret resurrecting hive namely Fynch, why don’t Osiris and Eris get new ghosts, Osiris and Fynch would be an interesting pair.

Ghosts dont want Old Silas bc he is old. Why would a ghost waste it's time on someone whose days are numbered anyway. Plus, it's best he doesn't have powers bc all he does is create machines he can't control and gets lost. Guardians already had to rescue him from the Infirmity Forrest. If he gets another ghost who knows where he will wander off to next. As for Heiress Moan, the ghosts probably sense that she is a sleeper agent for the Crotas. The only reason she was even let back in the Tower is bc Zendaya has a crush on her. It's pretty obvious that no one trusts her, which is why they sent her to live on the Moon. No ghost is going to pick someone who is evil. However, it would be nice if one of the other guardians told their ghost to fix her eyes.

Shin was a special exception, not the rule. His lore shows us how. The Ghost wasn’t in control of himself, “I felt myself expand. Felt the Light that was me intensify. In a way, it was outside of my control, as if something had reached inside of me and flipped a switch. A beam erupted from my core and bathed with Light the child's small, broken body.” The Ghost had questioned how could a baby be deemed worthy and was taken over. This shows foresight of the future by the Traveler. It’s scattered in the lore and even one in game cutscene. A lot of people overlook this tidbit. There are reasons to have the Light and reasons not to have it. Eris being Lightless is what made her an expert on Hive and Darkness power. Time and time again her unique insight is what has saved the day. That expertise is key to winning in the future, her role isn’t over yet. So she has to remain Lightless. Likely being reborn a Lightbearer would interfere with her Ahamkara given abilities as well. That’s how she has those eyes and first gained access to Hive power. Her purpose was to lose her Light and gain new powers. And thus should remain Lightless. Osiris, a little tougher to crack to be honest. Seems like he is going to mentor us through Strand. Though how he can teach us something he knows nothing about remains to be seen but why quibble over details. But if he had a Ghost and his Light, where would he be? He wouldn’t be spending his time in the Tower mentoring. That was never his way. But losing his Ghost and Light, the events that followed, have changed him. For the better. And now that he is weak and vulnerable, and admits tot this, he is putting his knowledge and wisdom to use in mentoring. Just at a time when we will apparently need to to master a key power. Not having a Ghost sets them up to do unique things that are necessary to winning the war.

Eris doesn't need a new ghost, she is more powerful with Hive and Stasis than she ever was with the Light If he wasn't already dead, she would go back and solo wreck Crota in 5 minutes with 1 sword

1 Reply“Confirmed” is a strong word. If anything the old lore has been rather inconsistent and retconned a bit compared to the lore we have nowadays. Remember in Forsaken when we go to assist Cayde after he gets un-guardianed and Ghost tell us that he can’t do anything.

3 RepliesComplicates the storytelling, it’s our only weakness. Also you’d have to consider the potentially hundreds or thousands of guardians that could be brought back like cayde for example

Pretty sure Fynch is on the fence of resurrecting that Hive Knight.

I like the idea of them not having a ghost. Because not only will they value their life more. But they will also fight harder for their own survival, and the survival of humanity. They won’t take it so much do granted as they once did. Because without a ghost, essentially they’ll be dead permanently.

Because bungie isn't always consistent with lore surrounding ghosts.

They’re waiting until they show up in the shop for brightdust.

Hmm, I like to think Osiris will actually take more into account the life he has left. Meaning he will value everything around him much more and not take a life for granted. Since he potentially cannot be resurrected multiple times. Lore wise, I find that most guardians take a single life for granted and abuse it. Just imagine how much harder guardians would fight if they were only given a certain number of lives till those lives are no more. We definitely saw that during the red war campaign.

Eris got stasis and osiris is getting strand. So they dont need a ghost for powers. Also ghosts can only ressurect others ...they cant become other people's ghosts.
-
6 RepliesIs that true? I thought Jaren’s ghost revived Shin. Jaren was shot by thorn and his ghost couldn’t revive him and the ghost went to shin.

3 RepliesBruh Fynch is annoying af though.

i can't think of a reason why eris or osiris couldn't get a replacement ghost but there is a hint about osiris. when the traveller was leaving ana said she felt a pulse but osiris felt nothing. /just a clue maybe they are both fubar or at worst, zombies.
