Do Warlock mains just need to pretend you Titan mains didn’t call us “whinelocks” because we were disappointed in arc 3.0? lol This just strikes me as so funny.
See, not so fun when you’re on the short end of the creativity stick, is it? I don’t think Arc Titan was all that bad. At least you still had that other freight train identity. It was just that most Titans preferred throwing grenades, especially because the grenades were so good.
This will only be the third melee focused super Titans have available. So it’s not an awful ratio when there will be 9 supers available to the Titan. For the class where one significant identity is “our body is a weapon”, that’s not a bad ratio. The other major Titan identity is to be the shield for the team, and for that Titans only have 2 and both are void.
On paper it at least sounds like this new super will be a beast. Especially with being able to lunch a projectile to partially immobilize a target to make closing the game even easier. If you can still grapple around too, then it could be very mobile and very dangerous. I am wondering what Bungie has planned to make roaming supers more viable in PvE.

Fists of Havoc: Melee Behemoth: Melee Sentinel Shield: Melee Burning Maul: Melee Strand: Melee Thundercrash: You can begin it at range, but it leaves you in Melee at the end to get stomped by the boss. So still Melee. Bubble: Support ability so N/A Hammers: Ranged. So of the 8 Supers Titan will have access to in Lightfall: Instant Use: 2 Roaming: 6 And of those by type: Ranged or N/A: 2 Melee: 6 [quote] On paper it at least sounds like this new super will be a beast. ... Because you could buff the damage dealt by Fists of Havoc and all it's RGB variants by 10,000%. It won't overcome the fact that most bosses in Destiny, you either can't even engage them in melee because it takes you off the plate. Or you can try to engage them in melee, and just get immediately -blam!- stomped by their no cooldown "get away from me" move. Bungie can try to insist on melee as much as they want, there's a reason nobody playing Titan builds around it. The game itself does not support a melee-centric play style. Either in boss design or mechanics.

My mistake, this will be the fourth. Thundercrash isn’t a melee. You’re hurling your body like a ballistic missile. The solar supers are roaming with projectiles. You’ll have the 1 melee focused void super, striker, behemoth, and now strand.

Thundercrash is melee. Use it on a boss in GM and see if you survive their instant retaliation with a ground slam. Did you die to the bosses melee ability after using yours? Did your ability force you into melee to do it's effect? Then it's a melee ability.

So handheld supernova is a melee too? If you try using that in a boss you'll also get stomped.
