(this is written from a pvp perspective)
Arc Titan's storm grenade has better tracking, doesn't get stuck the moment it touches a rock or a corner, you can just set it and forget it and more often than not you'll get a free kill
Silence and Squall.
The animation to even finish casting the super is about 3 seconds, and the super resistance is horrible. There's not a weapon in the game that has a 3 second TTK value (or over it) even with super damage resistance, any primary could kill in under 3 seconds. You don't even have partial movement like the other one and done supers. Nova bomb you can blink with, or even with glide while casting nova bomb you have momentum. Blade Barrage has movement built into it with it vaulting you into a direction that you can use to get in or out of a situation.
but Silence and Squall? You sit there, for 3 seconds, have a big blue aura around you that says "LOOK AT ME" and anyone could swing their gun around at you and clean you up easily.
Just.. why does it have to be like that? I don't care nearly as much about the cool animation (pun intended) than I do about my super firing off and actually doing something. If there was an exotic that said "Silence and Squall now activates much more quickly" and it instead had a 1 second cast, I guarentee that just about every revenant hunter would throw those on.
Why does a grenade, feel a thousand times more effective than a super? An ability that you'll find yourself using only once a match, two if you're lucky and built into super generation. Better tracking, doesn't get stuck, you can use it much more often, it's even better at denying area than the super.
The super so slow and small i've watched people just walk out of it. The game offers so many movement abilities like Icarus dash, or Dodge, or even Thruster now that you can use to completely mitigate the super. A Super
Can we get a bigger super? Make it move faster? Give it Titan storm grenade tracking and fix it not getting stuck the moment it even touches a pebble on the ground? Make it cast faster so that you aren't sitting in the open for 3 seconds?

Edited by MysticTR1: 9/28/2022 7:32:13 AMWhy isn’t that a Warlock nade they are supposed to be battle mages wielding magic and -blam!-…how the -blam!- did a Titan get a better nade than a Warlock. Seriously dumb!!!!!

The grenade is meant to flush people out of cover. It's not like it tracks very fast. You can easily out maneuver it.

11 RepliesBoth are fine as is, STFU

14 RepliesI still have yet to die to a storm grenade. Just move faster than 1 MPH:

2 RepliesThe amount of people that misread the post as wanting to nerf Titan's grenade when the entire point was to fix and buff Silence and Squall.

So silence and Squall has a long Super animation with not-high-enough damage resist. What about Chaos Reach…? Silence (the first hit) comes out faster than nova Bomb and freezes enemies. This stops them from shooting you in a massive area and basically sentences them to death if they’re not too far away. Then Squall(the second one) comes out and shatters enemies on a direct hit (meaning you can instantly kill one of the enemies you froze) of you can toss it off to begin hunting early. The most comparable super (in my opinion) is Vortex Nova. Quickly shuts down an area and applies an area-denial effect. S&S trades a slower cast time (putting you in more danger if you whiff your first attack) for a vortex that moves. Both have similar starting cast times (first attack of S&S and Nova Bomb) and damage resist. If you think Squall is weak, use it differently. Don’t follow it, use it as a flanking tool. Toss it out and go around to catch enemies off guard. They then need to deal with you while they keep moving or they die. All Revenants should use Durance too as it helps your super be much more lethal and your melee have more utility. Revenant’s super is solid. It’s not amazing but it’s a hybrid 1-off and roaming. Use it as a flanking buddy just as you would an allied Juggernaut Titan with a shotgun.

I’m pretty sure it has the same kind of tracking that silence and squall has. I’ve seen it get stuck in ceilings and what not plenty of times.

2 RepliesI like floating out in the open, it looks cool

2 RepliesIt shouldn't be on titan, it's clearly more thematic for warlock. If anything if it's on titan it should be a fragment for all classes The biggest problem with arc 3 is that it's fragments are all hot wet steaming -blam!-. It's basically just arc 2 with extra steps. Okay if there was a mod that caused arc traces to be considered wells, maybe we'd have a conversation. If there was a fragment that empowered melee weapons like glaive and sword, we'd have a conversation. As it stands the second they give me my new exotic back in going back to void.

It does? It moves slow AF lol had a ton of them thrown at me this weekend and I'd either slowly back up from them while continuing to hold an angle or just bypass them completely by taking a different route
-
Tl;dr but yeah honestly bungie shouldn't of made storm nades conjure up a lightning cloud that tracks you while you're fighting, moving away, trying to rez etc
-
They don't belong to Titans solely anymore. Go see Ikora on any class
-
5 RepliesWant to see piss poor class balancing and a bias?? Warlock supers give 0 resistance and can be put down 3 tap with a 140 HC. Titans are damn near unkillable ong with arc strider hunters
-
Stasis hunter super tracks fine stop exaggerating
-
Slovabomb tracks horribly. Also chaos reach keeps yo mid air 5 to 9 seconds.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 9/25/2022 11:07:02 PMI think what the OP is trying to say is its bull that silence and squall gets stuck in and on any thing thats not a perfectly smooth surface. While the storm grenade seems to have optimized code that benefited from the trial and error of silence and squall without the latter getting an update. Which is 100% true.
-
It’s not that bad, but it was super annoying in trials. It never caught up with me, but did force me to leave the area for a few seconds. Annoying more than broken.
-
Nerf Titan touch of thunder storm grenade.
-
Try moving.
-
4 RepliesStop crying and tryin to get stuff nerfed
-
They're not even really that good at killing it's really good at pushing people out of spots or a cleanup.
-
1 ReplyStorm grenades track??? Wtf does that even mean, what did I miss?
-
9 RepliesUnpopular opinion The Tornado that Chases you is Bullshit. Make it stationary, Hunters have a Panic/Shutdown super. Choose one or the Other mate. The fact it moves, on-top of being a panic shut down means it needs to be changed.b
-
Just don’t stand still?
-
Problem is it don't kill you in pvp unless your very weak and it doesn't track even close as much as the hunter stasis super that freezes and kills automatically
-
this made me lol. the tracking part is correct and never realized it until reading this. honestly the arc titan thundercrash i only use close to medium distance not long range so i dont have to really worry about tracking
