They get even one hit and they're basically immune from the front. There's no reason why it takes 2 full bursts of a high impact fusion to kill a guy who's to cowardly to fight unless you're literally incapable of killing him because he got one lucky shot. Hell, a direct hit at point blank plus a fusion grenade only takes out 60% of the shields. Either the resistance or the duration needs to be nerfed. Unless it kills in one hit, I shouldn't be unable to kill a guy because he got one lucky shot.
I thought you'd learned from Heir Apparent. Obviously not.
Edit: To the people saying "just melee them", either that doesn't work, or you're having latency issues. I literally just took Enigma into Rumble to show my brother what I was talking about, their melees did nothing to me.
"Splash damage"? A fusion grenade that sticks to a target does a lot more than 33 damage w/o scorch I'm sure, or does that not count because it stuck him? I even tanked a Leviathan's Breath. I basically ignored a glacier grenade that looked like it should've frozen me in that same match.
"Backing away" doesn't work against shotguns, otherwise they'd never get you except when corner camping. Why would it work against glaives which can 2 shot you further than any shotgun and some fusions? Trust me, forward movement, sprinting, and sliding are a lot faster than backing away, I've only been playing since D1 day 1. I know what I'm talking about better than most.
"Run away and engage later"? Everyone I killed with a glaive had no chance to run away. The only times I died were when I made a mistake, my shield wasn't fully up despite what it showed on my end, when I got shot in the back, or my shot did no damage despite giving me energy.
If all I need for 3-9 seconds of 75% damage resist from the front is to hit someone, to even tank what would otherwise be a guaranteed OHK, it's OP. Anyone who says otherwise is crutching glaives harder than pre-nerf Luna/ Not Forgotten.

It’s almost as if it counters an aggressive play style…

1 ReplyI just matched against a omni glaive lol i used two shotties my throwing knife and he took my life lol

4 RepliesTheyll defend their crutch with their lives

Good for pve but silly in pvp . Again it’s that slippery slope of trying to balance in between pvp and pve🤷🏼♂️

3 RepliesHere's the thing the shield is the only good thing about the Glaive in pvp the shot is the worst special weapon in the game and the melee is worse than a normal melee. So if you want the Glaive shield nerfed it needs a buff to the other two things to make up for it.

6 RepliesMelee goes completely through it, most splash damage gets around it. Or you can wait it out. Really not an issue
-
1 ReplyMelee them then. Melee doesnt get blocked by the shield.

4 RepliesWhen someone put up their Glaive shield, move back and re-engage. From there you have 3 options: - 1: melee if the enemy is weak enough. Non-stomp melee hits bypass the Glaive shield. This includes PvP. If they’re ever at 100 hp of have a broken shield, go for the melee you will win those 90% of the time and trade the other 10%. - 2: bait out shots. A Glaive without ammo basically makes the shield useless. This includes needing. To reload the mag. If they have no ammo in the mag they have no offensive abilities while guarding. They will need to drop their shield to swap, reload, or go for melee hits. - 3: ignore them. Glaives have long TTKs and are generally slow while shielded. Move around them or wait until they need to move and chase you down. Glaive shied is fine. It’s the only strong part of the weapon. Melee has a very long windup meaning you need to attack first in order to win melee fights and makes it annoying to clean up shot tags. The projectile also has very inconsistent hit detection. With a non-instant special weapon kill and a 1.09s optimal ttk, I think it’s justified. They’re designed to be counters to shotguns and fusions. Think and use a primary. Also grenades can be pretty effective too.
