I've done my fair share of raids. I try to be the person to take on the main roles like relic holder or whatever but this raid is way too much for me to handle. If you can get through it, great, but to me, it's a big ball of confusion without any time to come up with a plan B or solution before a wipe. 1 single mistake turns this raid into a slog fest because of misinformation and I'm tired of it being this way cause content creators saying "it's too easy"
Remember these guys can just find any top tier gamers and blow through everything like it's nothing while the lower tier have to suffer through new BS mechanics being introduced to the game that make it unfun ( Ie champions)
Anyways good luck guys, I thought Last Wish was BS but this takes the top spot of raids I'd never wanna touch again.
Some of you aren't listening so I'll spell it out for ya...I'm not just the "I only know how to add clear" guy. I prefer to do relics or whatever main mechanic cause I don't trust anyone to do it but myself. It's other people in the group can cause the complications of the raid. 1 person makes a mistake and it's usually a wipe. Which is annoying.

1 ReplyDo it like how WoW did in the past. Release it and each week or two, tone down everything by 5% till it’s engaging to the whole player base. Take it down by like 25% in scale over 5-10 weeks an see how many are clearing/engaging with it. Best players will have everything early on while others play catch-up and eventually get the clears and drops. I mean why put all these resources into something when most won’t touch it? Makes no sense, you want to engage as much of the player base as possible to keep people playing

this comment section... all of this forum, reddit, anything to do with this game, i am talking to the VETERANS, it so overly toxic it is just not good. new players will ask questions and have opinions. thats a good thing. if this doesn't apply to you then good. stop being bad people, stop ripping into new players, saying rude obnoxious things without perspectrive, yea you are salty because you been in the salt mine for years and raided 50 times and blah blah blah, just shut up or atleast TRY to be self aware your whinging is SO MUCH MORE annoying than ANY new question or opinion any new player could have -blam!- i have never seen so many self entitle, self righteous, up stuck losers, its like a hollywood paparazzi magazine or mtv reality tv show the way some of these older players act, grow up dude, these "spoilt brats" as they would say.. atleast they aren't rude and annoying, and you could probably have a conversation about the game with them literally boomers coming on here and saying "back in my day we had it tougher, its not gonna get handed to you!" while wearing gear they were handed too in a broken season... if you don't like it you are probably in this demographic, but -blam!- i have never seen a player base so toxic, so unwilling to hear and help the voices of those below them.. disgusting to think we are supposed to be "guardians" obviously this excludes the overly helpful and wonderful sherpas out there in there world. but -blam!- been playing games for decades and i've never seen this stuff before...

I've watched the raid on youtube and for me it's a "symbols" raid. I don't like puzzles with symbols games, that's why I play FPS.
-
6 RepliesThe ironic thing about this whole discussion is all of the PvE try hards are the same players who cried about trials being to hard.
-
Lol cmon, it’s not that difficult. Pull up all the symbols on ur phone and when u need to call out u got them all there for yourself. relics? Just learn them, the relic that shoots the knights to extend time is just like the relic in leviathan for the warbeast encounter. The relic that cleanses teammates is just like the vog relic (you can cleanse, slam and melee enemies) and the taken relic is simple, just use it like the dark/light buff in prophecy dungeon. The symbols are used all throughout the raid so once you learn them, the rest falls into place.

I’ve recently changed my opinion on this raid. It’s a bit much and future raids should probably tone down the memorization a little. The raid is very unforgiving and requires everyone to KWTD or at least be competent enough to improvise. The boss fights, while difficult, have larger rooms for error and can allow for players that are newer to just clear adds. The other two require full participation in the mechanics, and that leads to a lot of teams getting stuck on encounter 1. Encounter 1 is the brunt of my dislike for this raid. It’s very long, requires everyone to be competent, and has very tight time constraints when entering the symbols on the obelisk. This leads to teams getting walled out of the raid early and unable to even feel like they’re making progress. Compare this encounter to Confluxes, Kalli, or Security. This encounter is like they took Security and turned it up to 11. Encounter 3 is also tough because everyone needs to know how to use at least 1 relic, and going off of past experiences I’d be willing to bet that number is pretty low. All in all, it’s a mid-tier raid with amazing visuals, meh armor, and some odd but interesting weapons. Well worth doing but not something I’d do religiously

19 RepliesAll mechanics, no hero moments. Very unfriendly to PUGs. RNG raid exotics that often need seasonal perks to be relevant. Or they get nerfed to mediocrity because "trivialize content." Legendary weapons that are easily matched by way easier activities. Armor is merely a cosmetic trophy whose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Endgame PvE has never been a worthwhile endeavor since Red War. I love Destiny for it's ever increasing narrative quality and mission content. However, the endgame hasn't, and seemingly never will, surpass its predecessor. Which is a terrible shame with regards to how great its narrative quality is becoming.

Edited by High Noon at Jötunn Saloon: 3/9/2022 11:01:16 AMAfter this week, we're already moving to just a boss CP. The rest of this raid is terrible, like beyond a chore. And I have 4 full clears already. They really pooped the bed on it and we're stuck with it as the current raid for 6 months now.

4 RepliesMade it to last boss yesterday i got no clue wtf is going on in the raid and im someone who did a lot of raids. The boss design and athmosphere are really cool but mechanics basically require you to be absolutely be on top of it. Especially for 3rd and last encounter mess up 1 tiny thing its wipe.

5 RepliesEdited by Le_Reinforcements: 3/9/2022 4:35:24 AMEvery new raid since D1 VoG, I've peeked out of my little hidey-hole, looked over the vast LFG Ocean between my island and the new content, and gone... "Oh neat. I'm never attempting this."

4 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 3/9/2022 4:38:45 PMThat’s what I was worried about. The mechanics have gotten out of hand in D2, that’s just the truth. Like them or hate them, they are what raids are about these days, it is what it is. I’m not a fan of overly complicated mechanic driven raids, but I’m not an idiot. I can learn them and know what I’m doing. The problem then becomes getting six people together who can coordinate with each other to complete each encounter, which lately has just become a nightmare. Bungie is designing raids for dedicated teams now. That’s all there is to it. If you’re solo, relying on randoms… well… good -blam!- luck.

15 RepliesOP: good post. On point. You’re not alone in such thoughts, as mentioned. BDF: Of course, it’s just OPs opinions; we’ve all got ‘em…and they’re all different. So, ease springs! My opinion, fwiw: Raids: I gave up on them when they became stupidly ‘unfun’ and especially with ludicrous reward drop levels. I did help out a buddy fixated on getting Eyes of Tomorrow (RL) - he was at 50+ clears and becoming unhinged. I did a dozen or so boss check points and got zilch, except for a decently rolled Machine Gun. He eventually got the RL and has since departed the game… I can see why! Well done, Bungle. 👈 The ‘must have’ Raid weapons : Vex M / Divinity / Teraba (sp?) / etc. - nah, I can live without them. There be no fun in chasing those items; so I don’t. UTubers / Twits / etc. and the ramped up hype: without fail, the ‘favoured few’ who always seem to have perfect game play, perfect ‘secret’ tips and (fore)knowledge, perfect connectivity, perfect - everything; and especially, perfect access to new ‘must have’ weapons, where they praise them through the roof as God-slayers in PvP and OH-Boss Killers in PvE, which y’all have just gotta get!!!!! So, go grrrrind ‘em out, Guardians! 😂 When, in fact, bar a tweak here and there, they’re simply re-skins of stuff we’ve already got before, and probably had them sunset / vaulted, more than once, too! Nothing special, then. Yet, the ‘pitch’ remains unchanged?! Meanwhile, Those UTubers / Twits still get to enjoy their ‘perfect’ everything, whilst the rest of us continue to battle LAG / LATENCY / POTATO CONNECTIONS (only when connected to Density’s P2P (spud2spud) servers) / RIDICULOUS RNG / ARTIFICIAL GRIND / BHQs RADIO SILENCE / etc…etc… 😡 And they (BHQ / BDF) wonder why the passionate, loyal fans get cross?! 🤣 Like many, I like much about Destiny, especially the glaring potential to make it one of the truly greats, though I really don’t like how Bungle ‘Management’ have been killing the D Golden Goose since D1Y1. And, probably, such negative actions were less by accident and more by design!? The mind boggles. 🤯 So, ease springs, y’all…take things easy, stay calm and carry on at a gentler pace, be kind to noobs and Casuals, and try having some ‘fun’ - if you can find some - whether in PvP / PvE; at least, until something better comes along… Just my 2d worth. YMMV Cheers! MDGA 👈

20 RepliesI feel you on just not wanting to engage with all the mechanics. I said it in another post already but to sum it up, if I were to compare the raiding experience between FF XIV and Destiny, the biggest takeaway I can find is that in FF XIV we're actively fighting the boss. Dodging its attacks and using our combos to maximize damage and occasionally doing a mechanic that is simple enough to grasp just from paying attention. In Destiny, you're only fighting a mechanic and some adds while the boss stares at you angrily. I know which I'd rather be doing.
-
10 RepliesI miss Destiny 1 raids where you basically just went in and had minimal mechanics except for just beating the crap out of everything, now you have to stand on one foot while singing a song backwards and chewing gum while shooting a sequence of stupid paintings that appear on the wall
-
3 Repliesbungie doesn't give a d*mn about the playerbase. all they care about is what streamers and youtubers say because they play the stupid game 24/7/365.

Now say it again but without the tears🤡

4 RepliesEdited by NerfPaladins06: 3/9/2022 12:51:38 AMAs insanely beyond stupid as this sounds, I wish laws required people to have jobs and properly contribute to society unless they have something that prevents them from doing do (medical condition, handicap, disability, etc). I don't think anyone should be living off money given to them by others and having infinite free time simply because they're entertaining. Or even worse, having influence over the people they're promoting. Proffessional entertainers actually in the entertainment industry are fine, but I just don't feel regular -blam!- joes playing video games while blabbing like a -blam!- should are on that same level. It's got nothing to do with jelousy or envy. I just legitimately don't support what I consider to be freeloading.

3 RepliesMechanics are easy, raid is easy, it was only difficult during Contest Mode, which is over. It's not streamers' faults that you can't kill a Champion that is 20+ levels under your level. I also find it interesting that you say "screw the raid" after only attempting it for 3 hours. Most of the time, it will take longer than that to learn mechanics. If you are expecting to be able to pick up a set of raid mechanics and get a first time clear within 3 hours after starting blind, then you want raids to be "too easy". Learn how to kill Champions, learn how to call symbols, learn how to use relics, and learn how to work with others and the raid will be a piece of cake.

Edited by Smough: 3/10/2022 12:31:57 AMI just got finished with my first run and we were actually able to get very far and even complete encounters while making a lot of mistakes. The only time a single mistake ever caused a wipe was in the third encounter somebody dropped the relic into the void and someone had to go back and get it. Even then we almost salvaged it and completed the encounter on the next attempt. Personally I think it’s a fine raid, and I enjoyed my time with it. I’d say the only thing I’d change is reducing the amount of symbols and making them easier to callout similar to last wish.
-
1 ReplyYou only did the raid for 3 hours lol. That's not even enough time to learn anything for real. You didnt even try.
-
33 RepliesRaids haven’t been ‘fun’ since wrath of the machine
-
10 RepliesThis raid is stupid easy now without contest mode
-
Yea ....sorry to burst your bubble but you aren't a real raider You could only do the easy 1and said that LW was already too hard on you Which is fine ....raids like most and game content isn't for everyone The new raid is hard and need good comms which a lot of player really like Aside caretaker I can't see another encounter were you could wipe with 1 error...maybe 3rd but that 1 as way more time than you think it does Also for caretaker glyph runner my team found out that doing 2-2-2-3 alternating between 2 player is the best Give it 2 weeks when all the easier strategy will come out and make the harder part more bearable
-
It can be overwhelming. It’s a conscious decision that you make whether it’s worth learning or not. Considering there are guides now, I think it’s fairly easy to be prepared going in. I can understand not wanting to try contest mode because it’s a bit much, but off contest, I think it’s still manageable. BUT…you do you. It’s a game meant to bring joy, if a certain activity doesn’t, there’s no obligation to do it.

1 ReplyThis raid is so easy and it is easily teachable. The concepts of this raid are so simple and half the time 3 people are just on ad clear. The DPS requirements are very forgiving to. There is hardly any “meta” weapons needed. You could clear this entire raid with no mods or exotics easily. This is one of the easiest raids to come to D2. Also I would actually load into the raid more than one time before making judgment on it.

I‘m not watching a single content creator and I don‘t like anyone of them. But I really don‘t understand why people are projecting things they disagree with and say „yea only content creators are like that“. It might be hard to imagine for some people who are stuck in the echo chamber, but normal and even casual players can have the opinion that raids are too easy.
