“Well..” Selicy preemptively formed a pair of shadow bolts in her hands. “Guess that makes it pretty clear where we need to go.” She took the lead, heading deeper into the store, keeping an eye, and ear out for the spiders.

-
Two more appear, one skittering over a shelf and another turning a corner at the end of the row!
-
Selicy immediately fires off a shadow bolt at the one at the end of the aisle, calling out the other’s location to Ann, hoping she can take care of it!
-
Cutting a third down with her sword behind you, she draws the spiders blood out in long ribbons and lashes at the one you indicated. It falls in pieces and she pulls the blood to collect in her grasp. At the end of the aisle the path forward is blocked with thick webbing, with those to the left and right clear for now. Skittering intensifies, as does the hiss like snickering of a great beast far behind.
-
“I’m guessing that sound means it’s time to move!” Selicy yelled, leading the way forwards. She takes a turn around the left, glancing around the corner before she heads out, to avoid an ambush.
-
Another spider appears appearing further down the row and beyond it a door to the back rooms! Behind you hear fire and flickering light illuminates the store! Ann has conjured dim blue-green flame from the blood and set the webbing ablaze!
-
Selicy scampers down the aisle, and tries to leap towards the spider to plunge her claw through its body before it can attack! If the coast is clear, she makes a mad dash fpr the door, and throws it open, calling out to Ann that she might’ve found a way forwards if it unlocks.
How dim is this light? Would it still be considered atanding in shadows?
-
If anything it'd be making more shadows
You smush the spider and burst through the door into the storage area. The shelves are all empty and the large loading door is gone. As are the back walls, the thick mists drifting past. Ann is behind you slaming the door shut. "Oh good," she sighs, "Right, I think. Hopefully not much farther."
-
Indeed, but besides her teleport Selicy gets a mana regen boost if she’s standing in shadows. I was just wondering if the fire was bright enough to nullify the regen.
“Is buildings not having a back wall normal in Nowhere, or is this weird?” Selicy asks, taking a frw steps towards the mist.
-
She was turned away with it so her own shadow would've fallen on you Also it's more rubble than super natural. Dilapidated and what not.
"Everything's weird here." And she cautiously steps out.
-
Ah, I thought the webs were strewn throughout the building, so the fire would spread.
Selicy follows her, throwing her gaze up and down the street as they leave the building.
-
Ann marches down the alleyway and at the end her eyes alight with violet once more, turning to the mists above. "There are so many threads now... all converging ahead, across the street." The sound of stone upon stone comes from behind and as you peer up you can make out a long feline shadow...
-
“Uh.. Good kitty..” Selicy says, slowly reaching down to her blood preserves, slowly enough to try not to provoke it. It’ll take a second, but she’s hoping to have time to absorb the entire bottle.
-
You see it tilt it's head and hear a snicker as it slowly crawls backwards up the wall. Ann hasn't noticed and has continued down the alley.
-
As it leaves, Selicy closes the cap to her bottle, without consuming it, and jogs to catch up with Ann. “Hey, snowflake, I think we might have a Cheshire Cat on our tail..” She said, keeping her gaze upwards.
-
"We're close, let's run for it!" And she sprints forward, bursting from the alleyway, and above not one but three banshee cries call out as the nightmares scurry across the buildings after!
-
Selicy begins chasing after Ann on all fours, using her shadow jumps when she gets the chance to pick up speed!
